Function to be added

Post by HOTEC »

Is it feasible to add to the Editor a new function, "Set hex row ownership to current player"? The use of "u" is for refinement only.

The map editor allows you to set control of entire rows or square areas of the map to either side. Are you aware of the map editor, which is accessed from the map in the editor with the use of the tilde key (the one above the tab key on my keyboard). Section 6 in the WitW editor manual (which is in the WitE2 /manuals folder) discusses this. Is that what you are looking for?

Yes. I see u in the hot key list and am not aware of the WitW Editor Manual. Thanks.

The hexes change to the Germans as the color changed. When I exit from the Map Editor by pressing the tilde again, the hexes remain Soviet control. How to confirm the change?

When in the map editor you have to select which side you are setting control for. I was able to change the control in the map editor and then you can see it in the rollover or with the e key when you leave the map editor.

You appear to be changing nationality of the hex. You need to change control of the hex. In your screenshot NAT is highlighted. You need to click on CTRL at the top to change control of hexes.

Done. Thanks.

btw. The use of CTRL is to change the nationality of a hex. What is the use of NAT wrt a hex?

When you click the none (0) option or whatever is there you get a list of all the countries so you can assign that hex to that nation so it is for country building - so if you wanted to put Poland back on the map assign each hex to Poland (11) as per the light box at the top centre of the below left hand screenshot. Obviously a lot more involved to build a country back in but it gives the basic.
