Could you also please consider a single Ubermensch-zombie unit to arrive in June 45 for the Germans?

A little more chrome. Big warships like the Bismarck or Hood should have their own counter. Losing such a beautiful counter should be felt

Re: Warplan 2 wishlist
WP2 engine is already created. A fantasy game will come out first using the new engine to work out the kinks.
Then WP2.
WP2 will be a global game scenario game. It will allow you to play any single country or many countries on a side. But still be able to use an computer controlled countries units if need be. Like in North Africa Germans using Italians.
As of now the fantasy game needs the computer opponent to be written and lots of testing. Also finishing up the main scenario. So WP2 is looking at 2024-2025

Re: Warplan 2 wishlist
In WP2 engine, I hope it will be possible for a neutral country to be at war with a major one without entering in one alliance. A real neutral side.
For example Finland at war with USSR in 1940 without being in the Axis.
Second point, I am curious to know if advancement system will still be there.

Re: Warplan 2 wishlist
Another point, will you have a % of partisans per country? I really would like more partisans in Yugoslavia. Or, a theater box to handle partisans BUT that will need an investment of troops to handle them from the Axis side.

Re: Warplan 2 wishlist
I think the victory conditions could be made easier. I still have no idea after all the games I have played how the Vp hexes work. I have no idea how long I have to hold them to win and it seems difficult to calculate.
I suggest something like this
Allies conquer Axis 44 or earlier a decisive victory. Conquer Axis May 45 Major victory. Conquer Axis August 45 minor victory.
Axis unconquered August 45 minor victory. Axis have x number of VP hexes august 45 major victory. Axis have x(higher number) of hexes in august 45 a decisive victory.
Also maybe there should be some kind of sudden death victory to try tempt the axis to overextend. So if at any time Axis controls a (very high) number of hexes they win a sudden death victory.
Also I think Baku should be a VP hex.
Just an idea

I am considering putting into place a much easier system for victory. Simply holding X number of objectives at the end of the game.

Allow players to buy coastal artillery (several levels like AAA guns) to protect their ship in port.

Re: Warplan 2 wishlist
I think some of the more irritating items included in massive Strategic Wargames are things like Partisans. They usually spawn in a hex and are are just annoying when you're focused on a major front. It would be a lot more fluid to change them into something else, though ahistorical. Like a Penalty in Production if certain amount of units aren't devoted to quelling them. Giving a nation the ability to fund them like HOI did or get less of them by less harsh exploitation of local resources would be possibilities I suppose.
Playability and cool alternative ways to harass your opponent I think are the entertaining aspects of wargaming on this scale. Like Strategic Bombing being effective, or U-boat Wars...Or giving regions, cities and countries a feel of value to the player. Often they are just disconnected Hexagons with Production in them or Resources/Ports/etc... Nothing else... It sort of disconnects one from any history or feeling of to them.
Warplan EU 1 had some odd outcomes. I remember fighting one fellow, he performed D-Day no less than a dozen times. He taught me how to properly utilize the Allies. Just toss it all in. The missing flavor was that if the Allies did that I don't think their populations would of fought on. The Russians had really no choice...
I hope this title comes more like in 2023

Yeah, very good point. The Allies do Overlords all over the coast from Holland to Bordeaux...all at the same time. That would be impossible IRL. They could only dream of such capacities. And if Overlord 1 had failed, the next Overlord would have taken a LOT of time to prepare. Of course if the real Overlord would have failed and the Western Front would have reached some kind of stalemate for the winter of 45 as a result, the atomic bombs would likely have been dropped on Germany instead of Overlord 2 perhaps. Who knows. But I digress.
An operation like Overlord should be a big deal and not something you can do multiple times in a row all over the coasts of Europe.

Re: Warplan 2 wishlist
Be able to start the more expensive units, that is the ships with part payments. Ships were not paid for all up front.
Re: Warplan 2 wishlist
I don't know yet how. But a mechanism that is allowing to damage AAA guns on a given location. Today, once AAA guns are in place, they are never damaged.

Playing whack a mole with partisan units is a pain. Better abstract it. Don't make it binary. Throughput should be affected by high partisan activity.battlevonwar wrote: Tue Sep 27, 2022 9:09 am I think some of the more irritating items included in massive Strategic Wargames are things like Partisans. On logistics: currently the length of a supply line does not matter. As long as you have an active railroad connection a supply source in your home country, all is well. The fact that the supplies have to travel thousands of km's is not taken into account (for example the Germans at Stalingrad). Longer supply lines should be a thing, although I realize this will be tough to get right.

Isn't that what the expendable landing craft are simulating? doing multiple d days would be costly, between landing craft expended and units lost if it failed I think it is pretty well representedPanzerMike wrote: Tue Sep 27, 2022 12:12 pm "Warplan EU 1 had some odd outcomes. Yes I already asked about this to help interception. But to link to an advancement level, UK first for Battle of Britain then Germany and USA for CVs and Subs. Not sure Russian had any radar station.
