Importing DLC from Steam

So I just bought the Steel Inferno DLC via Steam. Is there a way to download the files separately for the non-steam based game?

buy from the forum and you get the game and serial and a key for steam, buy from steam, and that's all you get, a steam copy

You can get a refund by Steam under certain conditions.

You have several hours (or days?) to refund it at Steam if you did not play it for a longer time.
I believe it has always been the policy of Matrixgames to supply a Steam key if the game was bought at Matrixgames and is available at Steam.

Essentially there is no point in buying Matrix Games, games, on Steam.

If you purchase a game on Matrix Games, then you not only get the game and can installed it as many times as you want on your PC (thinking of WITP-AE for example), if / when Matrix releases a Steam version you automatically get a Steam key.

Those that lament the pricing here at MG, have not been hear long enough, there eventually is always a sale of some kind going on, and in reality, other than the GG games, all titles are very reasonability priced at MG (usually $29.95 to $49.95), in fairness to GG, the higher price tag is beyond the worth of those types games in re-playability alone.

It seems to me that folks that complain about prices are spoiled by the low priced discount games on Steam (and this is also reflected in the low quality of a majority of those games).

Since 1959, and from 1969-1982, and then again from 1985-2022, when it comes to board war games and PC war games, war games are a niche market and folks that started gaming in the Steam era are used to cheap games with low quality that appeal to the masses. War Games on the other hand are and have always been a niche market and the community for and of war gamers has always been small.

Not too many "normal" folks are interested in the ammo load out of Spitfire XII vs Spitfire VBs and which one would be more suitable to the mission on hand, or how to calculate the armored effects capabilities on attack vs the anti-tank effects capabilities on defense for a given hex in a single battle, or figure out how to set up their logistics network and set up their support units for optimal effect, or what if Picket did not charge on that day...

Normal folks that play games like to shoot stuff and or pop candy balloons to win a prize or put falling odd shaped blocks on the bottom before they all stack up.

Ok thanks everyone. I can't ask for a refund as I've been playing the Steam-based game for more than 10 hours already. I will wait for a discount in the future to get the SE DLC.
