Wow - its been a week since I posted here and I do apologize. Work and life has been busy I've been having trouble finding time to do turns, let alone post here. The past 12 turns have mostly been slow with not a whole lot going on but lets do some updates.
Burma:
Allied forces are on the move here. A Chinese Corps is sitting in Lashio but doesn't have the firepower to take the base. My quick turn around of the turn caused me not to notice until the corps had already arrived in Lashio and attacked
Not very happy with myself on that. Looks like another Corps is marching to Lashio from the east. I have two divisions prepping on the rail at Rangoon to move up but they may not get there in time.
He has been bombing Lashio and escort / sweeping for 100 or so fighters (P-40Ks and P-38 Lightnings). We've had a few clashes in the air between Franks and the P-40Ks and the results have been pretty even unfortunately.
British (and probably Indian) troops are marching down the trails along the coastline and have arrived in the hex east of Ramree Island. I have 600 Assault Strength - not sure they will hold the jungle hex against the 18 or so units or not. I have ordered LR CAP and some fighters sweeps over the hex and 100 Helens will visit this turn.
Nomad is landing troops along the coastline north of Ramree and I think he is simply doing that to unload large amounts of supply since we are still in monsoon season up here. I am attempting to move a surface combat TF up here without being seen to catch his shipping.
China:
I had a division and two regiments cut off for some time now northwest of Nanning where the trail crosses the river. I've been toying with a militia regiment there crossing the river to claim the hexside but was worried about the Shock attack. Well I let it happen and as expected the shock attacking regiment was destroyed - completely (240 PPs to buy it back). But it did what I hoped and claimed the hex side so the rest of the troops can escape.
OZ:
My surface combat TF consisting of 1 CL and 5 DDs will sprint to Gove this turn and see what ships the allies have there. We might run into more than we can handle, but this TF is expendable. I moved them south from Dobo last turn and the weather in the area seems to have kept them hidden so I hope to catch some merchies at Gove.
SRA:
Australian troops have now landed at Aitape to join the New Zeelanders - but no attacks have happened while his bombers from the Rabaul area hit my garrison unit there repeatedly. There is only around 15 Assault Strength left in the unit so any attack should capture the base. A fragment has already been airlifted out and is sitting at Guam waiting to rebuild once the parent is wiped out.
South Pacific:
Nothing going on here. Lots of enemy ships coming and going from Ponape but nothing else going on. I managed to slip another 60k tons of supplies into Truk to shore it up and it has finally reached level 9 forts.
Some Random Thoughts:
I think overall Nomad has better pilots than me. I kept his alive for 12-18 months while training them up to a higher standard than I did -- a mistake I have noted for future games. Mostly I think its around the Defense skill - his is simply higher than mine.
I have almost completely replaced Kates with 2Na Jills on all my carriers - Vals have already been replaced by D4Y4 Judies. I believe all but one CV has Sams on board and that should be finished next turn. Then I need to backfill the rest of the CVLs and all the CVEs - Sams won't be seen on land units for quite a while still. My Frank stockpile is around 700 and I have turned off most of the production - I still produce 1 per turn so I can easily see the stockpile and decide when to turn on the full production again. My Sam production is still filling out, but should be finished in a couple days. Then we just wait for the next new aircraft to arrive...
In two turns I get 3 new Mogami CAs - which will probably need to go in for a refit to bring them to modern standards. My stockpile of Naval Shipyard Points is slowly decreasing - down to 25k from the 1 Million I started with.

Allied troops came ashore at Ramree Island. Reports indicate at least part of the 19th Indian Division.
After heavy air bombings, the Chinese troops at Lashio attacked knocking the forts down to level 1.

I had three of the surviving DDs that sunk the ships at Gove turn into a Bombardment TF and hit the base as I saw some ships in port. We did not get any hits on them, but we did destroy a B-25 on the airfield and damaged a few others.

RN ships bombard Ramree islands in two TFs - one led by a pair of CLs, the other by BB Warspite. Following the bombardments the Indian Division here attacked, but my troops held them off behind the level 3 forts. But they will only hold 1 or 2 days before falling.
Lashio suffers heavy air attacks followed by an attack by the Chinese and they take the base.

With the good moonlight I ordered my Nells to strike at the airfields at Tezpur (where the RAF bombers are coming from) and my Helens to strike at Chittagong (where some fighters are coming from) during the night. Unfortunately 96% moonlight wasn't enough to keep the strikes together - over half the bombers got lost and never made it to the target. In all the attack was a failure - we lost 15 planes (10 Helens and 5 Nells) to flak and ops. I believe we damaged 4 DC-3s at Tezpur.
RAF bombers struck at my fleet troops heading west from Lashio.
RAF Fighters swept the skies over Mandalay finding no one there to fight.
RN TF bombarded Ramree island to aid in the attack there. The Indian Division overwhelmed my Naval Guard unit and captured the base.
The Allied horde east of Ramree attacked my troops in the jungle but we held against 1:1 odds. We lost 2.5:1 number of troops and I expect only 1 or 2 more attacks to dislodge my troops there.

Heavy air action over Burma this turn. 44 P-40K Warhawks, 27 P-38E Lightnings, 44 P-38F Lightnings, and 22 P-38G Lightnings swept the skies over Mandalay making way for a horde of RAF bombers hitting the troops there. The damage to the troops was not much, but it did remind me of the air power the RAF has in Burma / India.
RAF bombers hit my troops fleeing from Lashio again and run into Franks on LR CAP !!! My Franks only engaged twice but shot down 28 bombers: 14 B-25Bs, 8 B-25Cs and 6 A-29A Hudsons. Two Franks were lost to ops - but no pilots lost. IJA Pilots were credited with 17 kills in the engagements.
The Indian Division attacked my trapped Naval Guard unit at Ramree wiping it out.

My Nells and Helens actually mostly arrived on target this turn on their night strike on the airfields at Lashio. We lost several bombers put killed half dozen fighters or so. Not the best results, but not bad considering the poor bombing ability of Japan.
RAF fighters swept the skies over my fleeing troops west of Lashio looking for the Franks that ambushed his heavies last turn, but they were at home repairing damage and resting.
More heavy bombing at Mandalay inflicting around 500 losses on my troops there.
The British juggernaut east of Ramree attacked and forced my Division there to flee to the south, leaving behind the regiment. I am sure they will attack again this turn and push the regiment south or destroy it.

My fighters sweep the hex NW of Prome and get a 'Carrier support unable to provide air cover..' message.. So the recon reports suggesting some RN carriers in the area are true. RAF fighters sweep Mandalay again and to both our surprise some Franks are on LR CAP there !! In several engagements against P-38s my Franks do better than I thought they would. The Franks then pounced on some RAF bombers in the afternoon phase as well. In all I lost 1 Frank to A2A and 1 to ops (both pilots survived). In return the RAF lost 10 P-38Fs - 8 A2A and 2 to ops and 10 Wellington Ic - 8 A2A and 2 ops. Not bad - the IJAAF is doing good in the skies over Burma.

Burma:
Many RAF fighter sweeps over Mandalay and Prome today. Nothing on my side was in the air there so no engagements.
His troop horde moved SE across the river from Prome and the troops there engaged my troops slowly retreating to Prome. The British troops achieved 1:2 odds but I took 3 times his losses - damn British tanks. I was trying to get my troops across the river before he caught me, but it doesn't look like thats going to happen. I'm sure he will do a full attack with 4 Infantry Divisions and 1 Tank Bde which will probably force my troops to retreat to Prome getting beat up heavily along the way.

Burma:
Same old same hold here. Heavy fighter sweeps and finally some heavy bombers show up over Prome plastering the airfield there. So glad I moved my Fighter Sentai last turn somewhere safer.
As expected the British attacked my troops NW of Prome forcing my troops to retreat to Prome busted and nearly wiped out. Unfortunately, for the British, one of the enemy units followed me to Prome. I am attacking them this turn. Hopefully I can cripple the unit and take it out of this fight early.

Why is it always Burma !!! Because thats where the action is !!
I have counted roughly 200 RAF fighters in theater sweeping Prome and Mandalay - P-40K Warhawks and a P-47D2 Thunderbolts... Does the P-38s upgrade to the P-47s?
My troops at Prome take a beating from RAF Heavies escorts by P-38s but it doesn't stop my attack on the lone British unit that foolishly crossed the river pursuing my fleeting troops. The 8th KGV Light Cav Regiment gets spanked back across the river, leaving a trail of tanks in its wake.
Ground combat at Prome (55,50)
Japanese Deliberate attack
Attacking force 19078 troops, 152 guns, 42 vehicles, Assault Value = 762
Defending force 576 troops, 0 guns, 94 vehicles, Assault Value = 55
Japanese adjusted assault: 94
Allied adjusted defense: 10
Japanese assault odds: 9 to 1

In case you didn't see Nomad's post in the new Beta version thread he and I are using the new .exe version and so far everything is working fine.
Burma:
More RAF sweeps over Prome finding no one home.
China:
My bombers from Hong Kong and Canton hit some Chinese Troops chasing my fleeing troops from near Nanning.
SRA:
US Heavy bombers strike my troops in the jungles near Aitape inflicting no damage. But the P-47s strafing them seem to do some damage on most strikes.

RAF P-47s sweep Rangoon finding only a single Sentai of Tojos on cap - which they maul. These ultra-high sweeps are very hard to combat.

I sweep the skies over the British horde NW of Prome and follow it up with around 100 Helens. The bombers take some losses and inflict little damage.
I put up 100 fighters at Rangoon to fight the RAF P-47 sweeps but they swept the skies over Toungoo instead finding no one home.
Three Australian divisions attack at Myitkyina capturing the base.
