Non-playable black hexes

Post by RedAss »

Please tell me there is a way to easily add large swaths of non-playable hexes to a map.

When I use the paint bucket icon, it turns the entire map black. Ugh.

There are HUNDREDS of these hexes (379 x 379 map).

I have clipped the borders as much as possible... but so many left to turn black.

Am I stuck with the 9-hex blob or the straight line function?

First thing to try is to draw a box of black hexes around the relevant area, then use "fill to border" in that area.

If that still turns your whole map black, you could try doing the outline in deep water and then "fill to border" on unplayable.

I find the line function fills in spaces pretty quickly, though. You can do a whole hexrow- which could be hundreds of hexes- in about five seconds.
"What did you read at university?"
"War Studies"
"War? Huh. What is it good for?"
"Absolutely nothing."

Thanks for the reply, Golden.

I ended up just biting the bullet and doing the rows. So. Many. Rows. Next time picking a rectangular country...
