Maximum Imports field in Ground Elements tab

Post by Dereck »

I'm not really clear on what this field is used for. The editor manual only said the maximum number of imports.

Does that mean that, for the Panzer IIIL, if the maximum number is 1099 and it imports Panzer III Chassis that there can only be 1,099 Panzer IIILs built?

Thanks.

Thanks. A follow-up.

I've noticed some fields have a -1 in them. Does that mean nothing can be built? And what about a 0 (zero)? If there was a 0 in the maximum imports field for the above example would that mean 0 item could be built or no limit?

IIRC, -1 for build cost means it cannot be built. A 0 in the build cost means it is an on demand build item. A zero in the max imports column probably means it does not import anything, but I could be wrong.

If it does not import anything wouldn't that mean that a 0 in the Maximum Imports for the Panzer IIIL would mean no chassis are imported and then no Panzer IIIL get built?

I noticed that armor seems to have an import for chassis but other items like artillery just seems to have a build cost and build limit. So I'm guessing they act differently in the editor?

zero in max imports has no effect if no import source is set. If you set an import source but forgot to update the max imports you won't get anything (remember the short-time ZiS-3 AT Gun data bug?)
