RTW3: v1.00.88 Public Beta Now Available
Hello everyone,
There's a new public beta update installer available. Click HERE to download.
For Steam users, you can switch to it by going to RTW3 in your Steam Library, right-clicking on it, choosing Properties -> Betas -> then choosing the latest beta branch from the drop-down list and allowing Steam to update your game. If it updates correctly, you should see the latest beta version listed as your version in-game on the bottom right.
Note: If you have any issues with loading older saves, please let us know.
What's New in Version 1.00.88:
User Interface
• Fixed a bug with actions on officers not updating the list.
• Removed an unnecessary "ships selected" text.
• Improved restoring the main screen to maximized on starting the game.
• The game will now remember the width of the left panel in the battle screen and the width of the left panel in the map tab of the main screen.
Bug Fixes
• Fixed a bug with zooming in on Field Batteries generating error messages.
• Fixed a bug in the Fleet Exercise setup screen that caused an error message when editing an independent division.
What's New in Version 1.00.86:
User Interface
• Restored the selected ships count label.
• Added filter on division type to fleet organization tab.
• Fixed unreadable oil locations in dark mode.

Officers
• Added the possibility to rename officers. You will see the updated officer name after switching back to the officer tab.
What's New in Version 1.00.85:

Re: RTW3: v1.00.85 Public Beta Now Available
Thanks for this. Do I need to install v1.00.84 first? I'm currently on v1.00.81.
Re: RTW3: v1.00.85 Public Beta Now Available
Yes, please install 1.00.84 first, as it's a full game remaster installer - essentially the new baseline for the game. After, you can install 1.00.85.Jades wrote: Tue Apr 29, 2025 5:11 pm Thanks for this. Do I need to install v1.00.84 first? I'm currently on v1.00.81.

Secondary gun duplication when moving around the 5 -port secondary slot (and possibly others, haven't tested everything myself) still exists on 1.00.85

Re: RTW3: v1.00.85 Public Beta Now Available
Since I am logged in for downloading the new Version.
I encountered an error in the .81 version, that might be still present.
It happened during a naval exercise in peace times.
A specific ship class could not be found (left or right click). My guess - dont have the savegames - that ship was under rebuild at that moment.

Is this reproducible from a save file?Aufricer wrote: Sat May 17, 2025 6:36 pm Since I am logged in for downloading the new Version.

We're investigating this issue.
Re: RTW3: v1.00.88 Public Beta Now Available
The damage model seems somewhat off ...
- torpedo flats get damaged by what must have been HE splinters/hits (I had a battle with all ships only using HE ammo), although they should be under the waterline (no direct HE hits) and protected by B/D.
- 4" HE into the superstructure cuts down main gun crew in 10" armoured turret (shell bounced off a guard rail and dropped down into the turret through an open hatch, right onto its nose fuse, I suppose? Happened in 2 of 5 battles, though...)
- 4" HE hitting the (presumably unarmored) BE damages the engine room (which shoud be protected by B, not BE; happened at least 2x as well)

Do you happen to have a save you could share showing this?Arralen wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:56 pm The damage model seems somewhat off ...1.00.88_20250623_A.png
- torpedo flats get damaged by ... something. Couldn't tell, as they don't show up in the damage log any more. But must have been HE splinters/hits (I had a battle with all ships only using HE ammo), although they should be under the waterline (no direct HE hits) and protected by B/D.
- it's only 8"AP shells without bursting charge (1895!) which cause a fire, HE never do (Tsushima wouldn't happen)

Sadly I was on the battle result screen when I noticed most things, and you can't save then, but only go back to the "main game", and the access to the battle data is gone.
I'll attach a save from sometime later, maybe you can check the ship design data of that chinese B shown in the screenshot, as it shows both splinters going through the roof of the 11" armoured turret and BE hits damaging the engine.
PS: HE actually does work for settings fires, it's only that AP seems more efficient, but that could b just my bad luck ..

Upgrading (-2) quality guns
Are those supposed to be up-/sidegrade-able at all?
When I tried to "flip up" to 14in (which are not avaiable - "X") and then back down to 13in again, the game said: But I was able to replace 13in(-2) with 12in(0) guns, IIRC this was not possible in older versions of the game?!
Checked the patch notes but didn't find anything ...
#18890
Compressed messages make others dissappear
E.g. "3 destroyers where commissioned..." did hide/omit the message that the class did not reach its design speed.
18891
Enemy AMC questions
At first I thought that the AI does not use the "2 AMC in peacetime"-rule.
Then I wondered if they are simply not shown, as they do not count against treaty restrictions as well.
(If my math is correct)
Then I encountered an AMC on convoy escort duty, while still nothing was visible in the almanac. Not even its sinking?!
Considerations on Treaty Tonnage Restriction
The game says "cheat a little and build ships up to (120%) tons."
This seems pretty useless, as for the overall tonnage and the tonnage building the real values are used.
