[FIXED][1706] ASCM ON - AS missiles launched from A/Cs treated as ground launches

Post by Knightpawn »

With ASCM ON, if an aircraft is flying over land (it can be next to the shore) and launches a terrain following antiship missile, the game acts as if the missile is launched from ground and considers terrain level as ground obstacle, essentially disregarding that there is a path from the A/C until the missile becomes sea skimming where AGL altitude should be irrelevant in the calculations.

Try and launch a Harpoon from the Orions 14 nm west of Arsenal of Cartagena (Spain), while still over land terrain in the attached file

Fixed for the next update.

As part of the pre-fire checklist, crash-eligible ASCMs now perform a full DLZ-style simulated flyout, which includes terrain elevation checks. If their predicted trajectory clears them of terrain obstacles (as in this case), they can be fired.
