why no LOS, but enemy has LOS

My USA tank unit has no LOS, but the Soviet anti tank has LOS?

Since you are playing with the enemy units visible on the map, units with the white spotting dot at the bottom of the counter have been seen by the enemy. So, your 3/B tank unit has probably been spotted by the Red arty unit to the southeast. Tank 2/B has probably spotted the red anti-tank unit. To be spotted, two things have to happen. First, your unit and its sensors must have LOS to the hex, and the enemy must have a spottable radius (small units not moving in cover are hard to see at distance, whereas moving or firing units with a decent number of units have a larger signature radius). There can be confusion when the enemy is in this mode, thinking it is visible when it is not. Need to be spotted with the dot. Just because one unit sees the enemy, a friendly right next to it may not see the enemy.

This is why everyone just switches over to grognard settings after their first few games :)

I will do that going forward, so far in "recruit" level five decisive victories

it's not as simple as, you have no LOS on enemy hex but enemy has LOS on your hex.
It is , from your selected units prespective , if your units sit on the highlighted hex (which is occupied by enemy units) you will have LOS on your current position. Note the soviet do not have Thermal sight, so their spotting ability may not be as great as your tank units.

At the same time, please note, on every map there are couple hex may expereince this phenomenon , your units do not has LOS on enemy units sit at a particiular hex but at the same time enemy has LOS and LOF on you. This may happen when enemy sit at a hex with a high concealment level and higher elevation. Watch out those hex when you are planning your advance route.

I was just messing about! I just find it easier if I'm not always wondering why my units can't "see" something if I literally can't see it plus the surprise of running into enemy infantry in a town (always a fun time when the RPG-7s/LAWs get pulled out).
