UNIT DISPERSES!!

Post by chazz »

Why?

I spent the PP to reform a Canadian Infantry Battalion to reinforce North Pacific and it disappeared the next turn.

Most annoying.

Do you have a save from before and after? The before save should be good enough for a screenshot of the unit....GP

This has happened to me a few times.
When bought back units arrive with only a few devices, mostly disabled, and zero supply.
I set them to rest for one day so that they get some supply and then let them accept some replacements before moving them.

Isn't there a die roll to determine how much of the TOE the unit returns with? You may have got a very bad one if that is true.
First place I would look is the Intel report on LCU reinforcements. They could be in the queue.

Disappeared from where?

Units recalled do not immediately appear on the map. There are scheduled as ground unit reinforcements turning up in their home base soemewhere between 21 and 36 days later.

Although I've not experienced this with ground units it is possible to recall an air group and suddenly find it requires to be withdrawn/disbanded before or shortly after it appears on the map.

I regularly "buy" with PP e.g. Canadian battalions lost in Hong Kong and Singapore. Also all base forces and HQs if able.

They take 21-36 days to reappear as said, usually in "national" or off-map base, e.g. Aden, Mombasa, Karachi, San Francisco, Sydney and so on.

The unit dispersed in Vancouver, where it re-spawned.

Thanks, I am aware of this.

On a side note, a friend of my dad's family was in the Winnipeg Grenadiers captured at Hong Kong. IIRC there were Australians at Singapore, but no Canadians.

What is the supply situation at Vancouver. Is the unit in the lost unit list or reinforcements list?....GP

Sorry I'm confused.

This is what should have happen. Can you confirm these steps please.

It was destroyed and could be found in the lost unit list.
You then recalled it and it was then placed in the reinforcement list, due to return some 21-36 days later.
It appears in Vancouver after this time.

Are you saying that when it appeared in Vancouver it then disappeared?

A pics will also help.

As mentioned, provide pictures and if you have a game save from the turn before, provide a picture of the base screen and the unit screen. If you don't, we can't help you....GP

I learned that if you buy back destroyed units that were set to no replacements, no upgrades, then they return to home base as no replacements, no upgrade; therefore, once these units arrive, one needs at a minimum to turn on their replacements, and if supply at base is low, then increase the supply level which (hopefully) will begin increasing the following turn. Units bought back arrive with an absolute minimal amount of devices, primarily support, so DO NOT set the unit to move, just set them to rest. Btw, this applies to Allied as I've never played the Japanese.
