How do I cancel an air transfer if i wish to?

Post by rexursus2 »

I searched the net and could find nothing about how to do this. Is there a way to cancel an air transfer once I have selected the destination?

Not once the plane has taken off. You have to make the changes before the turn starts executing.
Don't worry - it's just like any military operation - some things will be FUBAR. Part of game realism IMO.

If you have already selected the destination, you will see that the operational aircraft have moved to the new base. The only thing that you can do is either transfer them back the next day or reload a save from before the transfer.

No, it's an instantaneous command. Any not ready will transfer once they are and that can take days unless there's a rail link. Unready are transported by train which usually takes upto a day, possible two.

Sometimes managed to accidentally transfer air unit into base without rail connection or aviation support.

Then you are SOL, having to either reload game or transfer aviation support there.

Especially easy with option "select base from map". At least on list you see amount of aviation support available.

I chalk it up to an incompetent staff officer. The staff officer is usually transferred to Kodiak and takes over as the CO and only person assigned to the Bear abatement program armed only with a bayonet. By the time I, er another staff officer makes the same mistake, the position is open again.

Did you read or hear about those two hunters who shot a deer on Kodiak? The dragged it into some brush to process and a grizzly stopped by to retrieve her deer. One hunter looked up, saw the bear, and took off running without saying a word to his partner. The impatient bear then picked up the other hunter by the seat of his pants  so she could eat her free lunch.

The blame game.

Walked into my little village shop yesterday to pick up my paper and said to the owner, 'It's raining again, it's your fault Raj' to which he answered 'We aim to please' with a smile all over his face. :D
