[WAD] [1776] Sepehr OTH-B improbable performance

Post by Knightpawn »

In the attached file, switch to IRAN. You will notice that some ships (yellow contacts) have been detected at the entry of the Gulf of Oman. If you click on one of them and check the detection information on the right side bar, it points to a certain Sepehr OTH-B radar as the detector. But if one tests the RADAR LOS of that particular Sepehr OTH-B it seems that it does not extend to the area where the detected units are.

Is there a plausible explanation for this, or is it an issue?

Sephr is an OTH radar, it doesn't require line of site. It's got of range of 1600nm, so yes, its working as designed. You could put it in southern Russia and there's a pretty good chance it'd get a surface detection.

Thanks both. I did not realise that OTH stands for over the horizon. I will look into it
