Is there a way to detach named companies and battalions from RGTs?

Just completed a first round of Scenario 7 Tutorial - because Palma held firm before the end of the scenario it ended with a Minor Nationalist Victory.

However, one of the most frustrating elements is that, despite looking everywhere and even in the manual, I couldn't find how to detach a specific company from a Regiment. The "detach unit" in the Unit Organization screen detaches some random devices I don't need (HQs, support wagons), when I usually want to detach a specific Infantry company for mopping up operations, expand frontage, leave a defensive unit in the rear, or detach an Engineer unit to conduct base repairs.

Any assistance on this? Is there a way to detach individually-named batallions and companies from the RGT?

AFAIK, in the Unit cart (if is called that way), select "Show unit TOE" enough times to see the OoB in the unit cart. Then, right click in the one you want to detach.

I had the same question and answered it myself by luck.

Fiddling around the Unit UI, I finally discovered how to detach individual subunits like I wanted.

1. Click on 'Unit Organization' on a Regiment Unit's screen, then click on the name in yellow of the subunit you want to detach;
2. When that subunit is on its Unit screen, click 'Unit Organization' again;
3. Down on the OOB screen, click on 'Change unit OOB';
4. At the top, you can click on Detach, which will detach the unit from the Regiment.

To reattach a unit to a Regiment perform step 1 to 3, but instead of clicking Detach select the Regiment whose OOB you wish it to join then when it's green, click 'Exit'. That's it, unit reattached to the Regiment.
