First picture is of interdiction. I have circled 2-8. North region is strongly interdicted so attacks could be costly for Germany. I will try to place interdiction level for each attack.

The following hex was attacked three times before victory. It also had a level three interdiction on it. I am only showing the final attack for context. Axis infantry unit retreated.

Next hex I wanted to show was intensity. It took eight attacks to claim it and all were costly. I am showing the first and last attack for perspective. End result was two German divisions to route.

Final hex I want to show is interesting because so much is going on. It had three interdiction.

First Attack: Allies lost 90 armored vehicles when Germany attacked and took the hex.

Second Attack: Allies took the hex back but it was costly to both sides.

This is picture of Italian combat. Wanted to show how many hexes were attacked but were not victorious. They still cost resources.

Final picture is of contact line. In this you can see were penetration is and where it looks like a new Axis defensive line is forming. Too much change to show multiple colors so just outlined contact.

Victory points for turn were -6 and game total is 227.

Weather in Italy is rain above with light mud on the ground. Europe is the same but with heavy mud.

Next turn will be heavy rain in Europe so I will change and move aircraft then. For now, same pattern of air missions.

For both phases Germany lost 261 aircraft while Allies lost 425. A difference of 164 in favor of the Luftwaffe. Ground phase will loose another 25 aircraft.

Wanted to show results of ground interdiction after air phase. Allies feel good about it and I do believe it will influence some ground attacks. Increase losses if not force retreats.

Turn 38 Allied Ground

This post covers the first four hexes taken by Allies. All were attacked only once.

first Hex: Germany only lost 17 soldiers in this attack. Axis unit routed but look at the combat value. Sometimes when a unit is worn down it will fall apart, equivalent to shatter but not technically.

Second Hex: This was a typical attack and result.

Third Hex: Unit routed and hex was occupied despite being mountain. In fact many hexes taken this turn are mountainous.

Fourth Hex: This hex cost Axis much in troops. Additionally, three units routed and that includes division level.

Fifth hex. This was a typical battle. However, I need to point out that the two hexes below (south) of this hex were not advanced into by Axis so Allies were able to move in at no cost this movement phase.

Sixth hex taken by combat is low in combat value by both sides. It was not occupied by Allies.

Turn 38 Allied Ground

This post and the next is dedicated on hex eight. Ironically, it took eight attacks to take it. Does seem like a theme. Ha. But instead of just showing one part of it I wanted to show the whole thing to give a feeling of how sometimes a single hex can become the center of attention on an active front.

Attack One: Heavy losses, particularly in armored vehicles for Allies.
Screenshot 2026-09-12 121245.jpg
Screenshot 2026-09-12 121245.jpg (221.23 KiB) Viewed 30 times

Attack Two: Armored vehicles are lost again, though now some of the Axis ones too.
Screenshot 2026-09-12 121943.jpg
Screenshot 2026-09-12 121943.jpg (287.64 KiB) Viewed 30 times

Attack Three: Allies keep loosing armored vehicles.
Screenshot 2026-09-12 122143.jpg
Screenshot 2026-09-12 122143.jpg (291.88 KiB) Viewed 30 times

Attack Four: Allied armored vehicles are lost, as usual. But many soldiers are too.

Same hex (8) continuing with attacks five through eight.

Fifth attack: Allies lost almost a thousand soldiers. Armored vehicles are being lost too.
Screenshot 2026-09-12 122708.jpg
Screenshot 2026-09-12 122708.jpg (306.33 KiB) Viewed 27 times

Sixth attack: In this attack Germany lost the majority of equipment and troops.
Screenshot 2026-09-12 123001.jpg
Screenshot 2026-09-12 123001.jpg (295.79 KiB) Viewed 27 times

Seventh attack: Trend continues, as Germany keeps loosing majority of equipment and troops.
Screenshot 2026-09-12 123157.jpg
Screenshot 2026-09-12 123157.jpg (268.77 KiB) Viewed 27 times

Eighth attack: Hex was taken but look at the combat value. This shows how the Axis units were worn down. German units routed. The question of course will be, was it worth it? There is a chance this hex may have been vacated by Mr. Bimmler. But what of the routed Axis units? Look at how many have been reduced due to relentless attacks. This persistence could be the cause of future attacks being successful.
