A new announcement...

Post by Erik Rutins »

Hey everyone, we have an announcement up today about Tin Soldiers: Julius Caesar. Follow the announcement link to the new "Coming Soon" forums for Julius Caesar and have a look at the preview screenshots. Julius Caesar is still in Alpha, but is coming along very well indeed.

Regards,

- Erik

Well now I have another game to purchase.

I never bought the first as I have NO interest in the setting. However Roman legions get my imagination flowing.

Will you be able to fight the Barbarian Hordes? WIll you be able to play any side in single play?

I hope this new Game changes the linear scenario format wherein you need to win a scenario to advance to the next.

While looking forward to the new Game I for one did not care at all for this system.

In the new game, there are 3 distinct phases: Gallic War, Alesia and Civil War. You can fight any of the battles in whatever order you like in the Gallic War. Once Caesar gains enough "prestige", you will then have to face the combined armies at Alesia. After Alesia, you will be challenged by Rome, and you must cross the Rubican and fight in the Civil War.

Other than being forced to fight at Alesia once the Gallic campaign is over, the game does not force you to fight on a rail. So, hopefully that makes you happy.

Guys,

Don't want it to seem that we are not responding to questions re: specific features. We are still in development, and we have a set deadline to meet. So, many features depend on how quickly we are able to stabalize the game and balance it. We will let you know as soon as possible on any specifics.
