New Screens

Post by Tankerace »

Since Im usueally showing off Allied screens, I thought some Japanese screens would be in order.

Image
The Japanese Repair ship Kwanto Maru.

Image
Japanese Minesweeper Kakotu Maru. Ill probably give it a smaller graphic, this one seemed to suit it based on the description given by Janes. Ill probably give smaller graphic if I change it at all.

Image
Minelayer Ninoshima Maru

Image
Destroyer Tender Shirogane. You'll find in WPO Japan has more than piddly little torpedo transports.

Image
Destroyer Tender Kenkai Maru.

Image
The Avro 504L, one of the few seaplanes Japan receives.

Image
And the Avro 504K, the wheeled version.

Ill probably redo the Avro's range, I entered in the endurance, but it seems a little unrealistically low to me.

Yep, the Avro is a British built aircraft. However, they were liscense built in 10 other countries, including Japan. Japan also makes use of British built Felixstowe flyingboats, Sopwith Camels, and Gloster Sparrowhawks.

In Japanese service, Avros were used as scouts, bombers, and training aircraft. I have ofter read they were the Japanese equivelent to the American Curtiss JN-4 Jenny.

Oops, sorry about the collier pic. That was a screen I took to show a typo I had done, to remind myself to fix it. Correct screenshot of MSW Katoku Maru is up.

I hope aircraft thumb art will be improved, I don’t want to offend you… but it doesn’t look very good.[:(]

Yeah, sorry Tanker, but I have to agree. Lasso the planeside artiste from the CHS, and staple his hand to his mouse to make him redo them...[;)] Or have Subchaser do them...

Btw, Japanese Avro 504K variant should be designated as Yokosuka K1Y1. I doubt that plane was used as scout or bomber, K in designation indicates that it was training aircraft.

I just did two WPO thumbs… looks pretty good. [:)]

WOW.... I always was better at ship art than plane art.

Thanks on the tips on the 504K. Information on Japanese planes from that time is sketchy and conflicting at best. Will change.

It may be a while, right now I am waist deep in the new interface and manual.

Besides, at least wait till I release the game before doing mods for it [:D] I'll make a list and get it to you when I can, but it may be a week or two.

Why not include Subchasers graphics in the released version of WPO? I don't think anyone will want to use the originals as the difference in quality between the two posted versions is so great. I know you must agree that this is the best option as you yourself asked some while ago for your ship graphics to replace the original WitP ones.
