I take back my Nope as to being the Wake.

The ship was renamed to make the original name available for use in a class of newer ships.

The ship shown is PG-43, built in 1928

The pictured ship is not the Wake, Yet.

The Wake was captured by the Japanese in Shanghai.

In 1945, after the war, it was given to China, it was again renamed, this time, the RCS Tai Yuan of the Nationalist Chinese Navy.

What is the ships Original name?
