Turkish Army

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Turkish Army

Post by Grand_Armee »

Although I've read in depth about this period, what has escaped my attention thhus far is Turkish arms, uniforms, and equipment. Anybody know much about them in this period? Or a site that would have the relative information?

I can't imagine the Turks wearing Shakos and Czapkas...much less bicorne and tricorn hats.

In my minds eye I imagine them wearing turbans like the Indian infantry in the old black and white films like "King of the Khyber Rifles".

This Website shows two typs of uniforms in this time period and it is somehow interesting.
Hope it's enough.[:)]
