Here's my pathetic attempt to plug the holes in my lines where Karri dropped his paratroops:

Second turn of the offensive in Ukraine:

As can be seen, I made contact with my paratroopers. I also dropped a few more brandenburgians...no doubt they will be killed but their only mission is to slwo down Larry's reinforcements. Larry's right flank around Poltava is secured for now but the center is defended by a handful of defeated units. Left flank that is not seen on the picture, is as far as I can tell, unable to support the center.
I have broken in, now I need to break out...1-2 more turns should be enough.
I also started another offensive north of Smolensk, but as of now it's not a full scale offensive as much of a continous artilelry barrage.

Karri has assembled all the artillery in the world to the south of Leningrad and is attacking my pathetic little Soviet defenders with it. I've had to move many many divisions in there to keep the line intact since during his turn he can reduce their supply to the single digits with his attacks.

Karri has broken through my lines in the south and there's nothing to prevent him from capturing D-town and destroying all my troops now.

Turn 16 was bad for me, only one combat round. But 17 worked wonders. I destroyed quite a few Soviet divisions and advanced on 3 of the 4 offensive areas.
Around Lake Il'men I destroyed quite a few divisions again, but did not advance.
North of Smolensk I destroyed a few units and advanced 1-2 hexes forwards. There was quite heavy defences there(at least 2 lines deep with several divisions in each hex), which now mostly consist of units in red supply and 3-4 strenght...so I am pleased with the advance there.
South of Smolensk Larry apparently didn't expect my offensive as there was only one line of defence there. His armored units caused me lot's of problems but luckily the area I was attacking was mostly manned by infantry, which eventually gave up and were destroyed, which allowed me to race through and wipe out/force back 3 artillery formations.
Near Poltava I wiped out most of the enemy divisions I was facing. The left flank lacks artillery support but was still able to advance a little and most importantly wear out the enemy divisions. The center advanced the most and is currently facing no resistance(but I suspect larry can throw in another line of defence), the Northern flank is tying up considerable enemy forces.

Here's the area south of Smolensk where Karri has blasted an unpluggable hole in the Soviet lines. I'll have to get busy and build another defensive line somewhere I guess.

This is what the situation looks like around D-town:

My original plan was to go with sort of punches. First punch a whole in around Poltava and once I am free to move there another punch would be made up from there. That offensive never happened since I lack the units to do it. The third one would have been south of Smolensk, fourth one north of Smolensk and fifth one around Lake Il'men.
Now, since I had one bad turn(only 1 combat round) it sorta screwed the plan. But I was changing it anyways. The Poltava offensive and the Lake Il'men attacks tied down, at least so it seemed to me, considerable soviet reinforcements. That's why I decided to go with my main offensive around Smolensk.
Now I've managed to make a breakthrough in Smolensk and in Poltava, in Lake Il'men it's a battle of attrition, and Larry has to try and plug each one of those attacks, which I am hoping he hasn't got enough troops for.

He's correct, I don't have enough troops to plug all the holes. My troops are done for.

Karri has broken through the Soviet lines near Moscow and it looks like there isn't much to stop him from heading that way.
