You just want people to stop calling you names?
Correct.
BF also talks smack about other game companies themselves.
Incorrect.
Stop being such a yahoo dorosh. Everyone calls you names.
Incorrect.
And much worse also.
Incorrect.
Usually starts with 'insufferable...'.
Incorrect.

BF does talk smack. See the quote taken from your thread in CM:SF 'The wrong left turd in the Valley'.
You are in denial. You let your playtester status go to your ego. You can't tell people enough about it. Like a girl with a big secret.
1:1 for anything but a multi-squad/platoon level game was a bad road to go down. For someone that pontificates abouts 'slippery slopes' and kitchen sink analogies; BF really drifted away from reality.
Talking smack about other companies, and attacking their own customers, is just not going to fix the bad product they put out.

And as an example of smack...
We made a decision to not do a "Talonsoft" and continually milk the same small group of people over, and over again with the same engine. That was a deadend route to take and they indeed deadended. The alternative was to push beyond the CMBO paradigm and embrace 1:1, challenges and all.
Steve from BF
I didn't come here to argue about CM:SF, and I didn't come here to talk about the battlefront forum. What you just posted, incidentally, is not "smack", but a discussion of design issues. I came here to express my displeasure at Matrix for hosting a forum that permits this kind of trash talk instead of focusing on discussion of their games. I dropped out of the Panzer Command discussions long ago because of your behaviour, and I know several others who would have had much more to contribute were it not for your domineering style. It's Matrix's loss. And if use of my name doesn't cease on this forum, I'll simply take whatever legal remedies are available to me - I'm that fed up.
Matrix should be aware of the risk you're placing them under by typing misinformation about the CM:SF beta test, also. That one's not up to me.
Matrix might also find it interesting to note that you were banned from battlefront not just once, but as multiple users because of your obsession with them, and obviously me in particular, given your fixation on reading the conversations there and reporting on them here. I realize I'm not making things easier for your mental health issues by posting, but I don't really need to see my name brought up here by you. So please do everyone concerned a favour and just knock it off already and stick to the topic at hand.
The screenshots look promising - but I'd love to see a full-featured map editor go along with the product.

So, if it were not for me, you would post 30,000 times here also?
Playtesting and it's feedback into design is a big issue. If someone does use the same engine over and over, then playtesting is just limited to scenario testing. Something that can almost be done in-house really.
But a new game engine, and its patches, need a critical eye and a blunt approach to feedback. Perhaps Matrix can learn a lesson from this. If they ever decide to radically change the Panzer Command game engine to attain a more realistic or challenging or entertaining game; they should really find playtesters that have test experience. Not 'buff' grogs or psuedo-historians or fawning fan-boiz or modelers or REMF types. I am speaking of people that have used Test practices as part of their profession.

This is very similar to tank design in WWII. BF is like Germany. They went for a completely new design. A Panther. But it had many teething problems and took quite awhile to get it operational. It has problems with its transmission. Especially the 1:1 gear ratio (yes, I amuse myself).
Matrix is now situated like the Soviets in 1943. They can take an existing design, Panzer Command (it's a T34) and improve it to make a world-beater. Instead of re-inventing the wheel, they can use a tried and true chassis and drive all the way to the bank.

LOL, unbelievable.

Yes. The truth hurts. Download the demo and look at the risk and misinformation. Its in a public record.

You both of it, let it go, right now. Otherwise you will find you on a two weeks vacation. Especially you Yoozername.
If you want to hijack threads or have a go at each others do it elsewhere.

For those wondering, Kharkov will be a stand-alone release, so you don't need Winterstorm to play it. HOWEVER, if you already own Winterstorm, you'll get a substantial discount off the price of Kharkov with its scenarios and campaigns and will also get free an updated set of Winterstorm scenarios and campaigns to play with the updated Kharkov engine.
Good to hear that!!!
Any rumors on the release date?
EDIT: could someone relase minumum and raccomended hardware specs to run PC:K?
Bye

Should be the same specs as PCOWS as I am still running the same computer.
Athlon 2800+
1 gig DDR ram
FX5500 256
Loading after picking a battle is slow and calc time is long for large battles but otherwise OK.

I have an Athlon 2800+, 1 gb ram and an Ati 9200 SE.
PC:OWS runs fine even at 1280 x 1024 with AA at 0, if I turn on AA it's unplayable.

I'll be getting this one as soon as its available. Unavoidable situation forced a Vista upgrade on me and neither CMBB or CMAK will work on the new machine. Tried CMSF and it's not my cup of tea so I hope you'll be taking your series forward.

We're trying to get it out before Christmas, but there are a lot of other games vying for release positions too, so we'll see. There will be more info on Kharkov posted here very soon as well.

This all looks great, timing? and a ? on resolutions, I am hoping to add a lcd to my high res capable monitor. What is the max resolution of KArkov, and how far into the future ie 43 44 45 will the units go. I want heavy tanks and mobil flack.. and of course I cannot even remember if air attacks existed? we need those too! thanks guys, I have been a patient gamer yet this is one ofthe few musts on my list!

freeboy,
Resolutions are only limited by your hardware. The game provides you with a choice from all resolutions that your driver supports.
I am running C2D, 8800GTS, vista 64 and run at 1900x1200 at > 60 fps in most circumstances.
The game is also designed to scale well with multicores, especially during the AI computation phase.

The units are centered on mid '42. Though there are a smattering of earlier and later vehicles. I am working on some Kursk time mod units but alas I am pretty slow.
What do you mean mobile flak? Like FLak Panzers and Wirbel Winds? Why do you need those?

There is air, but it is not under the control of the player. It can come in at some point during the game so your flak could be waiting around with nothing to do.
