Try putting a space between the tag and the lines maybe? Dunno, don't use signatures. =)

Both. 1st campaign will feature military skirmishes and The Savannah Arena Championship, 2 nd campaign will be entirely based on TOS military conflicts, 3rd campaign will be the Local Star Cluster Arena Competition.

If you really want a reason why surveillance satellites aren't allowed is that the Fremen pay huge amounts of Spice to bribe the Spacing guild.
Ok I'm kidding about that.

We have considered it and think it compromises gameplay. But I'm willing to read any posts that explain how this doesn't compromise the LOS factor.

effectively this thing could freeze a titan in place completely.

Ok, firestorm, can you explain *exactly* what you want this thing to do? This is my problem: if this is a weapon for heavies/assaults, why would an assault want to freeze a recon in the same hex the assault is in, if it's the recon's will to be there ripping it apart with CS/PX? And even if it freezes the recon (after more than a few attempts), what did it gain? The recon can (and must) be still to use its CC weaponry.
Against heavier titans, the picture is aggravated. A shield and a DCS will make your life miserable. Even if you freeze your opponent, you have to leave his hex, preferably in his back, which will take some time and in which you'll be taking damage and inflicting none.

I'm serious about this, I'm *really* trying to figure this out. Am I missing something?

I'm not sure, since it isn't my idea, but I think the hope is the titan will have so many damaged actuators/gyros, that it will fail any skill check and fall down, at which point it'll be more or less helpless.

Yep, that I already had figured out. But is that it? You have to force a skill check, you have to hit the gyro or leg acts a certain number of times to do significant damage. Shields block the attack. A lot of factors for such a heavy and cumbersome weapon IMO. You'll probably be overwhelmed by the time you manage to down an opponent - I believe the original idea was to slow down swarms?

ok so make it lighter. i don't really know, but a weapon to freeze an enemy would IMO be very useful. i was sort of thinking along the lines of a CC NB for gyros or something.

Hey, how come no one dreamed it up until now?

How about a net launcher? Shooting out viscous chemical that hardens to semi-rigid sticky strands, effectively freezing a titan on its tracks, both due to physical constriction and by causing severe electrical disturbances in underlying systems. Quite naturally very short-ranged and with very limited ammo, and with much greater percentages to work out for smaller titans.

Also, energy weapons lack missile launchers. <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> So, how about a Plasma Torpedo launcher? 6 slots and 15 tons could be OK. For the torpedoes themselves, they'd have high damage overall (say, starting out at 25), but they'd lose 1 damage for every hex traveled. Also, once the torpedo impacts, the remaining damage would be applied as with an engine explosion of same strength.
