Maybe its a technical error and it makes sense to resend the turn(s)?

Well, i think we may consider our game over.[:(]

It is a pity; after having suffered many defeats against Saruman,
i was just going to completely surround half its army.
One victory before death[:D]

I would also consider the game over. But why not start a new game. Im sure it wouldnt be to difficult to recruit a couple of players.

is the scenario grossly imbalanced or fairly balanced?

If fairly balanced i'd fill a spot in a new game.

I think it needs more playtesting to understand if the scenario is balanced. As it is the Dark Side has the initiative and did not give it up.
It was a very nice playtest game, I have some recommendations to add:
1. As it was I think the different fronts in the war feel isolated from each other. I recommend therefore to increase movement a lot (maybe double it) so that it feels more like the different fights are all part of one larger war. Same goes for transfer costs...
2. I think the victory condition should be based on how the whole side fares and not only on individual regimes (i.e. if one regime from the dark side captures 3 locations but the other regimes on the dark side loose 3 locations this should still be a draw).
3. Research should cost less.
4. Captured locations should still produce 100% but maybe only supply and political points.
5. Each side should be able to produce flying units.... Actually I think flying units are too expensive as it is.
6. I think the neutral nation (for Lorien) was fun. Maybe more of these can be included so that each side can bring in some allies.
7. Maybe some special abilities for the important characters can be included. Like the Nazgul lowering morale of the enemy? ALso some of the charactes should be stronger, Gandalf was a push-over.
8. It has been mentioned that Aragorn is missing. Also the ring is missing...
But I would surely join a rematch, too.

Hi, as designer of the scenario maybe i can add my thoughts. I would say that the scenario is at least not grossly imbalanced. Production is pretty much equal for both sides. But it could be a little unbalanced, it needs a lot more testing to say. That being said there was some strange battleresults in the testgame that could be investigated. As with all scenarios in AT the skill of the player is much more important than if one side or the other has 2-4K more or less in production.

I agree with most of Lunaticus thoughts on the scenario. The scenario is maybe 85% finished. But it would need a lot of polishing
1) more interaction is good, i agree. I am not sure that more movement is the best ingredient. But it could be tested.
2) i agree
3) Maybe a little adjustment, but i did some research in the game we played and i think it lasted something like 15 rounds. I think the cost of research in the normal AT game is to low. Maybe that opinion is reflected in my scenarios.
4) I absolutely dont agree. That setting is the reason that many games finish to soon. With an equal loss and win loosing a 5K city actually means a 10K difference in production. Then you can just give up after loosing 2 cities because the productiondifference means there is no chance of a comeback. I like the possiblity of having a comeback.
5) I want to keep things in the spirit of the books. And flyers wasnt that frequent. Hence the cost. That being said maybe all sides must have the possibility to produce flyers, for game balancing purposes if nothing else.
6) Agree. There should be more. Should say that Umbar is also neutral at the start.
7) Totally agree
8) I think i put in aragorn in the version that is downloadable now. The ring i dont care about. But characters are fun and there should be more characters, large events and interactivity.

My two cents. I will probably revisit the scenario and finish it some day. The graphics are great i think, its the real strong side of the scenario.

I would be very happy to continue for some turns. You managed to surround my army but we will see if you will be able to kill my army....
Will be an interesting fight.
