War Minister: Not yet Sire, the army did not manage to march that far in one month.

War Minister: Sire, Sire. The rebels are all dead!
The King: I know that.
War Minister: But how do you know Sire, I just recieved words myself?!
The King: I ordered them killed, off course they are all dead.

The King looks at alor of different reports, but the one he keeps reading over and over is the one that shows how Austria is second only to Britain when it comes to producing glory. Soon the Royal Palace will be a place people want to visit once more!

Minister of Foreign Affairs: Sire, the British has launched a surprise attack on the Spanish, and the French are moving towards our borders!
The King: I see, well we keep the army in Vienna for now, we do not want to provoke the French.

French/Austrian border

The Austrian spy carefully maps every unit he spots on the border. When he realises just how big an army the French have assembled on the border, he sends a pidgeon to Vienna with the folloing report...

Minister of Foreign Affairs: Sire, the enforced peace with France and ourself has come to an end.
The King: Ah, so the next war is soon upon us. We'll be ready for them! Start preparing for war!
War Minister: Yes Sire!

Turn 76

The Austrian border guards awaits the oncoming French advance. Yet nothing happens, are they not coming after all?

Turn 77

Still no sign of the French, maybe Napoleon is just as afraid of us as we are of him?
While we wait, we also notice that all of Europe is being torn apart by diplomats. Insurrections are caused left and right in a vigorous tempo, and we lose Venetia this way due to French actions.
Too bad Austrian diplomats are so poorly skilled.

The King: Reform the armies, call all divisions into Vienna in accordance with this report I have prepared!




Economic Advisor: I am sorry Sire, that will ruin the nation. We cannot afford to bring our divisions out of our fortresses. We need to think of something else.
The King: Bah, then we will lose the struggle for Europe due to economy?! This is no good...
Economic Advisor: Yes, I am afraid that is the situation Sire.

Diplomatic advisor: Sire, our diplomats have managed to get Nurembourg and Munich to join our kingdom! If you give me 500$ I can train another diplomat as well. How does that sound?
The King: 500!? Are you mad, that is more money than we make in a year! No, we will now target Illyria, and we will do so the good old fashioned way. Send an army!

Turn 80

All that is talked about all over Europe is how Spain has surrendered to Sweden, Britain and Preussia. This is likely going to alter the situation in Europe...

Turn 81

The King sits in his palace swearing at the financial records. There is no way he will be able to move his armies without going bankrupt, this simply forces him to sit idly by and watch the borders of Europe change.
He then takes out the latest map and looks at it, it is clear that Britain is the new superpower in Europe.

Turn 82

Austria's only offensive weapon nowadays are their diplomats. Unfortunately the Austrian diplomats are not very good at their job, but every now and then they do manage to cause an insurrection, like now. The province of Wurtemberg has once more become independent due to Austrian efforts, the only thing that is needed now, is to see if the Austrian diplomats can cause a coup...

Turn 83

A message is sent from the Royal Palace to the University of Vienna, it states;

Since we, The King of Austria, fund part of the university, we hereby demand that every medical student is to serve 5 years in the army upon completing his education as a token of apreciation of Our effort in their behalf.(*)

Turn 84

While the Austrian people are happy, the King is concerned about the fact that the main French army is located in Venetia, what are the French up to??

Turn 85

Once more the borders of Europe changes, and the Austrian King is furious for not being able to move his armies around due to economy.

Turn 86

When the King recieves words on how many troops the French have under arms, he refuses to believe it. According to rumors the French now fields more than 850.000 men in their armies!

Turn 87

It becomes clear that Britain has gained the upper hand in Europe, and not many can do anything about it, espesially not Austria who would be losing money was it not for British grants.

Turn 88

Once more the Austrian King is none too pleased when he looks into the treasury, it is almost empty. Then he is told that a new diplomat is being trained in Vienna, and that this diplomat not only requires fancy clothes, but also alot of money so that he can attend all sorts of fancy parties and theatres.
