Top Secret Meeting in Sydney
Australian Command HQ
Office of General Thomas A Blarney
"Gentlemen. We now face a crisis in Port Moresby. If we do not resupply those gallant fighting men they will certainly perish. As of 0800 today May 12th we have decided to a limited withdrawal of troops from Port Moresby. The first to be partially withdrawn will be the 49th Australian Battalion. Supplies will be moved in the forth coming days. As we speak three US navy task forces have left Pearl Harbor and are heading towards us. CV Lexington, CV Hornet, and CV Yorktown will arrive in approximately 10 to 14 days."
An aide raised he hand. "What was the extent of the damage on the enemy attack?"
"The CV Saratoga received damage that will keep her in Sydney for almost 2 months. At which time she will be updated and will need more time in either Cape Town or Pearl Harbor naval ship yards. We failed to even score any hits on any Japanese vessels."
