It's turn 15 and this is the moves map for turn 14. Some gains were made here and there and the supply situation is getting better in some places making it possible for offensives to be made.
You can find the turn 14 moves map at this url:

I have pushed further north than I originally intended and am toying with the idea to go ahead and grab all the territory up there if the supply situation improves enough to enable such an idea. OR I thought maybe I can just bust some bridges leading out of Leningrad to that area and letting it go at that. I haven't made up my mind about which to do so maybe I'll do both. I would appreciate some ideas you guys have that bear on this situation or any other, that you guys might have.
EDIT: I'm assuming that Elmer won't repair the bridges after I bust them. An assumption that might not be true.

I wouldnt be able to resist the temptation to race north Larry and swing my now shortened front line from the coast to the lake,Do you envisage many Red units in that area????
As for the southern area it could be a long way to the Luga River and Lake ilman

Here's the front lines and the supply situation at the beginning of turn 15:

I quite agree. The problem is that the supply situation in that area is really poor and I don't wish to engage major Soviet units with a disadvantage. But if the supply situation improves, as I expect that it eventually will, then YES....that would be a great idea.

I've seen the Soviet dude ( Elmer ) move units in and out of that area so I'm pretty sure there is at least one Soviet unit of unknown strength in there somewhere.

Again, I agree. And the supply situation isn't the best it could be yet. 39 per hex is the best that can be gotten so far and 19 per hex isn't all that bad but 9 per hex isn't quite enough for the combat(s) that I envision for my units. If he has a better supply situation than I do I either have to destroy his units quickly and then go on the defensive ( which I don't expect I can do ) or just don't go into there with my units yet, which is what I've been doing.
Thanks for the advice. And thanks for keeping up with this AAR. I expect you may be the only one. LOL

The very latest version of D21 ( as of 29 NOV 2009 )can be found at this url:

I'll have to look into the number of units and reply with the number after I'm thru with my turn 17 of August Fog. Stay tuned.

I went back a couple of turns to look into the number of units in play because it changes from turn to turn due to withdrawls and reinforcements. Here's the figures.

The supply situation is so poor in the Murmansk area that I'm afraid I may not be able to make any more attacks for a long time if ever. I'm thinking that Elmer will attack me, push me back, and destroy all the units up there. Not much I can do about it either. Maybe I shouldn't have pushed so hard to get where I am now.

I think I may have found proof that Elmer will disband units rather than let them be destroyed. In turn 14 I "surrounded" a very badly damaged Soviet unit and now in turn 15 it's not there.

I think I may have found proof that Elmer will disband units rather than let them be destroyed.
Another possible option is that Elmer tried to move it, and it suffered the dreaded 'disengagement' attack, and the result was evaporation.

As you may know by now there's a newer better version of Directive 21 ( 22DEC2009 version)which can be found at this url:
http://www.mediafire.com/?12zjyyjhnnk
And anyone not having D21 and wanting to play it will, naturally, download the latest version. So accordingly, I need to do this AAR on the latest version to represent the actual gameplay that people will experience. Which means that I need to start over and use the newer version. So that's what I will do if that's okay with you guys. Or even if it's not. So stay tuned for turn 1

Hey guys. I'm looking at all these files in the Directive 21 zip file. Where does the .dll file go? I think the .eqp file goes into Graphics with it's own folder with the exact same name as the .SCE file right? Do the graphics files go into this same directory? This is all new to me.

So um.....I got an early turn ending after just the first round and there isn't much to say about what happened but I did put together one of those fabulous entire-front-lines-in-motion pictures and it's way way too big to post here so I put it in an html document which you can find here:
http://www.filedropper.com/d2122dec2009turn1
Lemme know if you want more detail in the html AAR document and I'll include it as well. Happy holidays everybody.

Just more advancing, destroying Soviet units, more airfleld attacks, some bridge busting. A couple of those fabulous entire front in motion pictures are included. Enjoy.

There is an instruction file in the original .zip file.

Hey...let's go for the gold. All of the above. Why not? Either that or play it by ear. I plan on destroying all the Soviet units I can get next to. I figure I might last longer that way. LOL.

I'm sneaking up on Riga and making progress all over the map. The Stalin Line is in sight and Minsk is just around the corner and through the trees. Turn 3 is finished and the AAR can be found here:
