Nice, Shock Cavalry Front. Who is the general for it?

I did sort of the same thing vs. Tarhunnas, though I didn't use a Shock Army HQ. Probably should have. I did hoard a bunch of cavalry, so that they were decent morale/experience when Blizzard hit, then formed up a Cav Army. They did very well, nearly all of them flipped to Guards by March.

Are you attaching Sappers and Tanks to your Cav Corps?

Looking at that map, I predict disaster for the Germans down there.

Timoshenko is in overall charge. Each army gets ample artillery and a sapper regiment. Each corps has a tank batallion.

Turn 28, 12/25/1941, Blizzard

Offensive continues over most of the front. Four cavalry shock armies are now mobilized (however the 3rd and especially the 4th consist mostly of raw recruits). The Crimea is still not evacuated.

You mentioned you added a Tank Bn to each Cav Corps; I would add 1 or 2 Sappers as well. They are cheap and good.

Or, 1 Sapper and a 2nd Tank Unit, that's even better, though you may not have quite enough tanks for that at this moment. By March, you should have more than enough tanks.

Not that you need help, this looks very bad for the Axis. He needs to withdraw from the Crimea, or count on Sea Supply through Sevastopol.

I played around with this shock cavalry army concept a while back, and concluded that it's probably not worth it in the long run. But it's definitely worth a few giggles in that first blizzard.

Holy Cow, all those cavalry units... cool.  This is getting very ugly very fast for the axis...  [:(]
I'm thinking axis player didn't realize how hard he has to push in 41?  Case and point from this AAR.  But it's not easy being a newbie to WitE and playing axis.  I remember getting my ass kicked by normal AI when I started WitE, sad to admit.

Time is running out. We need to dig in on the river and dislodge the units in the cities to the north.

Turn 34, 2/5/1942, Blizzard

Offensive halted except for in the Crimea. The objective now is to retake Crimea before the Axis can mount any large scale counter-attack.
