There has been hints/rumors towards expanding ground combat in the past as well...

That would be awesome.



But it could just be a new wonder with a fancy image.

Armour units,hmmm.I want to hear about the details before I moan about added micromanagement for little benefit to gameplay.4X games have never done a good job with ground combat apart from MOO3.Now if we get a MOO3 type army structure with marine,armour,etc and planet terrain itself having different effects I would be more satisfied.

Since it is real time, ground combat has to be some sort of attack and forget (just like ship combat). But it could be expanded with ground tech, and a few different troop types. For instance, if we get our "minimum troops on colony", it could make sense to have some troops more suited to defense, and others more suited for attacks.

Above all else - retrofitting stations, new weapons, etc - I would like to see one thing more than all else.

Better AI.

There is stuff flying overhead otherwise I would have guessed a sports complex...

With the stuff overhead, I would guess maybe a 'Headquarters building' like the U.S. [:)]
