Turn 36 - 28th October 1915

Not quite that bad, but the attacks, especially in Serbia, are starting to hurt....

I buy a Garrison with the Russians which allows for no repair at all...mmm not sure that was a good idea.

Meanwhile I send my RN cruiser to block the Straits of Otranto so I can transport the Italian Garrison to Serbia.

In France the Germans bring an artillery to Calais...oh dear....

Turn 37 - 11th November 1915

Yep, sure enough, the Bulgarians are in and this is met with a major offensive from the AH. This looks bleak for the Serbs. Two armies are atacking Nis. I have little choice I think but to shorten my lines.

Turn 33 - 16th September 1915 (cont)

The Turks are turning up the heat in the Caucasus and I order a general retreat.

So ends a very disappointing turn....

Turn 38 - 25th November 1915

Russia

The retreat to Tiflis continues....while in the north all I can do is shuffle some units.

Serbia

I continue to try and shorten my lines and join my defenders of Nis to my southern flank around Belgrade. Meanwhile in the west, the two Garrisons head for Nis.

Italy

The German unit northwest of Trieste is down to 4 thanks to my French battlefleet, but I can make no further impression. I put a second Garrison from Taranto to sea, bound for Serbia.

France

Little I can do but repair and wait....

Turn 39 - 9th December 1915

Its almost over for the Serbs. 4 Bulgarian Armies are investing Nis, although a Serb Infantry did give the unit north of Nis a bloody nose.

Italy appears well and truly bogged down - as do the units in France.

Turn 40 - 23rd December 1915

Nothing doing on the Eastern Front - its obviously too cold. In Serbia the Serb army is being whittled down, but again my infantry army, to which I have given Guards status, has once more smacked a Bulgarian north of Nis.

Italy remains much ado about nothing, but at least I am saving cash [:)]

I am going to bring the Grand Fleet to the Channel to see if I can smack some sense into the German unit south of Calais.

Turn 41 - 6th January 1916

Well I made it past two Christmases - Huzzah.

Sadly Nis has fallen to the Bulgars. My second Italian Garrison lands in Serbia but it is too little too late...

Nothing to report in Russia or Italy

Ditto France. Too much Christmas pud no doubt - no one is in the mood for fighting; they obviously do not realise its Saturday night [:D]

Turn 42 - 20th January 1916

Still nothing going on in Russia. The Turks have tried one or two attacks, but without troubling the scorers, while the Germans send over some aircraft and do some general fannying around.

So its back to Serbia.... the gallant Serb army is down to just five units and are falling back on Belgrade.

Another turn gone...

Turn 43 - 3rd February 1915

With Russia stil quiet, the Italian front springs into life. The Axis leave a gap by the coast which I exploit with an Infantry. Attacks from land and shore bombardment reduce an artillery in Trieste to 4 pts.

Attacks elsewhere are roughly equal, but I have left the enemy with a gap to plug at least.

In Serbia - and then there were 4.....

The Italian Garrison in Cetinje at least drew blood in a battle with a German Garrison.

Turn 44 - 17th February 1916

Still no action on the Russian Front. I can only suspect that the Germans, AH and Turks are massing for a "big one".

Meanwhile in northern Italy, the Italians continue to try and expand the breakthrough between Trieste and Venice.

No action worth the name in France this turn.

Appreciate this AAR, keep it coming.

Warspite I suggest you build up your forces in the West for a Big summer offensive. Are the Germans still attacking? I'd hit them away from where they are attacking as one they will have to shift forces and two the start of the attack probably wont have as many enemy units to get through.

Just a thought. Remember WW1 was all about the big offensive once a year maybe twice...not constant small scale attacks as such. The Somme lasted from 1st July through to November!

Turn 45 - 2nd March 1916

Russia Ditto

In Serbia the Italian Garrisons have done themselves proud. They destroy a German artillery piece north of Cattaro.

I get an Italian General - hurrah! I may have gotten a bit carried away, I have pushed two hexes north of Venice with an Italian Garrison....mmm

In France, an attack on a German Garrison northwest of Verdun inflicted 6 losses on the German, but there was nothing to follow-up with.

Yes, I am looking for places I can hit with artillery and can then follow-up with infantry attacks. I am not sure how the ammo supply works - I rarely have any ability to fire my guns. But if I can work that out and hit the Germans in one go from all guns then I would be in good shape.

Turn 46 - 16th March 1916

Now the Germans have woken up in Russia [X(]

I had an Infantry I wanted to stick in the south but I have Germans springing from East Prussia and around Brest-Litovsk so I place it behind the river west of Vilna.

Two Serbians left now [:(] I will try and fall back on Tirana with my Italians and British Garrisons and hope the Romanians come in soon - and are much cop when they do.

It was a valiant attempt to break out by the Italians, but I think discretion is the better part of valour, and I retire the Italians to the start line.

Well thats sounds like WW1..they spent months building up enough arty rounds for the big push..restricting rounds in the weeks leading up to the Push.

Sound slike you need to stockpile your Arty..then blast the hell out of them with it then follow up with your forces..

Turn 47 - 30th March 1916

I will pick up again tomorrow I am too tired now and i think this is a pretty critical phase in the game....

....so back to the war room.

Big probs once more in The Caucasus. I have left the Batumi Garrison for too long and he is about to die [:(] I place a Garrison I wanted to use further north near Stavropol. I attack the Turk peeps between Tiflis and Batumi, but its pretty inconclusive.

I have no points to spend on repair so I sit and await the next turn with some trepidation.
