We have had to get a new programmer, so we are just waiting for him to familiarize himself with the game so we can move forward.

Thanks for the update! I'm glad to see this is still alive. I have confidence you'll eventually get this done, and BTR will finally have the update it's needed for years.

War in the West has quite a good Air War incorporated. Has all the things I wish BOTR would have had (including shorter turn resolution times).
It really shouldn't be necessary to spend a minimum of 20 minutes to see your turn play out.

I have also WITW (and I'm loving it), but they are different wargames, different scales, for air war fans the game is EDtBtR, it's focused on air war, a more detailed scale (of time over all), therefore turn resolution is so long, but this is a quality for air wargaming fans like me, viewing a turn resolution on WITW takes little time, but it doesn't give satisfaction as EDtBtR does.

And one last one for the "shoot down" events. The animations will be improved over time.

Thanks Peter and yes, it is an entirely new game built from the ground up using the Unity 5 engine and was successfully migrated to Unity 5.5 this month.
I'm pushing to get the website finished and the facebook page live but the art work is taking me a lot longer than expected.

About 10 months now since the possibility of a new patch for BTR/BoB was first mentioned, 3 months since I last inquired, and also 3 months since the last contact with anybody involved with the patch.
Once again, is it still alive or has it been abandoned? No need for a detailed report or statement, just let us know how things are going every now and then.
The reason I say this is because I don't want to watch this project become something like TOAW IV or Combined Arms, where year after year goes by with no apparent progress, and very little communication from the designers and developers.
Communications does not appear to be a Slitherine/Matrix strong suit....too bad since the majority of people can handle the truth if something is making no headway, or has been cancelled. Some news even if just to say we're still here every 1-3 months or so is better than nothing at all.

Still very much alive. We had to sort out some software issues and should be moving forward again in a few weeks.

The handover to the new programmer is complete and we are making good progress migrating the developer tools. Once we can successfully compile the code we can start fixing things.
