you did it right while retreating in the South.. His mobile units will be out of supply if attacking immediatly and you will have time to entrench.
On my opinion, his target will be Stalingrad, not Baku

Currently I am waiting for turn 65(mid September) and his Panzers are spread out from Smolensk to Caucasus. It does not look for another big push but you can never know.

I doubt it, his defense seems to be strong. I will probably have to wait for rifle corps.

7.8.1942 - 13.8.1942
Brian tried to form another pocket in Moscow sector and failed. I have launched few counter attacks and routed 3 German mobile divisions.

The game looks to be nicely balanced. I think you've done the right thing to back off to preserve your army. Your decision to abandon the Tsymla river may even be too cautious.
It'll be interesting to see what he does with his gains South of Rostov/Stalingrad. Abandon them at some point would be my guess.
Holidays are over

14.8.1942 - 20.8.1942
Brian continued with his effort from previous turn and succeed. My attempt to open the pocket failed. Another 12 divisions doomed, especially the 4CV guards hurt.

I am surpised u did not pull them out last turn. I am guessing he was very happy when he opened the turn and saw your troops still there for the taking.

Only 3 could have been saved. 3 were used in attack that routed German division. The rest were stuck between German units.

20.8.1942 - 26.8.1942
After clearing the pocket, German Panzers were shifted to Orel. First belt of fortifications between Orel and Tula was contested. Panzers did a breakthrough and I am again on retreat.

In the south, I have retreated behind Don and Volga. 1 Guard, 1 CC and 2 Tank armies make Stalingrad safe for now, I hope.
Brian is very cautious and usually never leaves any unit exposed. My options for counter attacks are very limited.
