So John has finally arrived at my front lines. I'm seeing some Panzers in the mix and there's surely some more besides those you see.
There's no front lines after this one so this one has to hold if I'm to have any chance of winning this game. The one thing I don't need
is John getting into my rear areas with his tanks. So here's the contest that we've all been waiting for.

I have just got Larry's turn back. This screen shot is at the start of my turn 11. In turn 10 I was lucky to capture the bridge at 122,77 and hold it. I have the 8th panzer and 3 Inf divisions set to cross this turn and head towards to Leningrad. I also captures the bridge at Pskov and to the south I have the 1st panzer, 36th Pzg and a SS tank division plus 3 inf divisions. With this force I may be able to get behind Larry's MLR. From my side of the Hill I can only see 6 Inf Divisions and 2 tank divisions. It is a big if but if I can behind the MLR not only will it a sizeable pocket but there is very little until I hit the Moscow MLR. We may be home for Christmas.

Have just sent Larry turn 11. This a picture of the Leningrad front. I am now across the Narva river in force. To the north I am starting to break in to the defensive line north of Leningrad.

This is the centre. If I can cross the river in force then I will be able to turn Larry's line

Have started on turn 12 and with a bit of luck was able to capture the crossing at 128/73 with an overrun attack. Larry has been able to contain my break in of his northern line but now I am pressing up from the south. The question is how many units does Larry have in reserve.

Here's how the air war is going right now:

Ok......here's the situation: if you'll recall I received a boat-load of reinforcements as the first delivery of several turns worth of them and
this picture depicts some of them. I've railed them to the front and here they are defending a part of the front. As you can see I'm in
trouble and outmanned and outgunned and this front isn't going to hold long. So there's a potential hole iin my lines. D'oh. John is
advancing so fast that he's arriving at my lines before I have built it. Good for him. This is a great game so far. I'm impressed.
I forsee John's units capturing Leningrad in about three or four turns as John advances from the southeast of the city. I'm SURE there's
nothing I can do to prevent it's eventual fall. So I'm not going to send a lot of forces that direction. I'm thinking I ought to hunker down
and form a ring around Moscow so to speak.
So far in the south John is adjacent to Kiev and Odessa and he's almost finished w/ the mop up and has already pierced the temporary
front line I formed on the west side of the river so now it's up to the defenses along the river to hold John back. I've seen John jump rivers before......so I'm going to have to line up some troops on the east side of the river to try to contain the Axis footholds. I'm not sure
there's enough time to get that done. So it goes without saying that the situation looks grim.

Here's Smolensk now. I'm holding temporarily here at best. There's lots of undefended river for John to jump.

Here's what it looks like at Gomel now. So far so good. I can probably hold here at least this turn maybe one more. But then I'm planning on bugging out to the southeast because of the advance John is making north of this AO. I'm going to see if I can't race some
recon units into this position to hold the line while the INF bugs out.

Here's the situation to the SW of Kiev and North of Odessa. I've formed a light screen of recon units and tanks, the fast movers I just
happened to have handy at the last moment, and I'm hoping they can hold John up for a turn, maybe two. I'm rushing people to the river
but they aren't there yet and John is advancing fast. Too fast.

Here is what Kiev looks like now. I've started forming my shield along the riverbank and so far there's only these few men. I have some
reinforcements headed this way but some of them are broken into three parts still and all of them are out of supply. It seems that they
are units that John has already killed and they are reconstituting only this turn. I'm railing the pieces to Moscow to get them put back
together and then rush them to the lines after one turn, a short rest.

Here's the area SE of Pskov that I've code named Veli Luki. The real name is a pain. Veliliye Luki or something. Any way John is
breaking through here too. He's going to end up just NW of Moscow in five turns at the pace he's moving. The Soviets are really in
real trouble. John could possibly capture Moscow before Christmas. My reinforcements simply HAVE to arrive at the front soon.

Here's Odessa. So far John has only probed my defenses. I still have the option to evacuate these people by boat and I don't know
that I ought not but I'd like to give it another couple of turns and see if Odessa can't hold out for maybe four turns or so. Hopefully.
Maybe cause John to devote some of his people to the mop up of the remnants of Odessa defenses. Maybe I SHOULD leave them
there for a while. Leave the boat option as the last option.
