He just admitted to have been to Stockholm. If he was brave enough to visit Stockholm during the Winter then a man that survived that experience must be allowed to post. Such wisdom and knowledge he must posses. Or if he visited Stockholm in summer, when all the girls in Sweden blossom, then he really must be allowed to post.

Ok, who with a creditcard registered to matrixgames have visited family-unfriendly sites and dragged these spammers here? [:-]

I run a forum at my early music website (see my sig). Before, to thwart spamming, I hacked the forum software to block all account registrations, and posts, from

[*]countries with a high concentration of spammers (there is software to determine the poster's country from the IP address)
[*]black-listed IP addresses
[*]black-listed subjects (tell-tale words in the subject)
[*]black-listed account names (tell-tale words in the name)
[*]multiple account registrations from the same IP address, or range of addresses, or domain
[*]excessive post count per day
[*]other

I also renamed and obfuscated the forum software pages and function calls for account registration and posting. Spambots are able to determine what well-known forum software you are using, and indirect attack deeply, bypassing access routes that normal humans (members) would use.

Eventually, I just gave up on the open registrations. Too much trouble. Now, if anybody wants to join the forum, they have to e-mail me. Not practical for the Matrix Forum of course.

Also not practical if the spammer's software operations are super sophisticated enough.

It's a never-ending war.
