This AAR and the Pelton vs S2Tanker AAR seem to indicate that S2Tanker may be trying to develop a "pull them apart" invasion strategy.
I think the Allied player is better suited leaving the garrison requirements to do that for him and concentrating as much as possible to attack decisively.
The Allies don't have overwhelming numbers of map counters like the Soviets, and I think if they get careless thinning themselves chasing too many objectives they can lose a lot of time overall.

It's going to be a knife fight in a telephone box. I have no idea what to expect, but I'd warn folks to remember scenarios have different stipulations and logistics chains than campaigns.

Turn 60
Aug 19, 1944
With N. Europe secure for the moment all the focus is on Italy.
Operation Achilles:
Paras and the available mechanized forces will attempt to link up to isolate as many Allied units as possible. The hopes are to leverage the clear terrain for both air and panzer attacks. The main risk to the overall success of the operation is the possibility of an amphib invasion providing relief. If we can cut him up here it will allow me to free up all the mechanized forces from Italy again so we take the risk.
3 ground attack air directives are established as well as naval patrols to harass the TFs providing fire support off the coast (and possible paving the way for a supporting invasion).
Lacking a credible Allied air threat the German pilots are able to lay down a solid path of interdiction on the axis of advance toward the Gulf of Taranto.

Turn 61
August 26, 1944
As expected, the Allies have broken the weak encirclement for some of their units.
The Allies are too weak to maintain these tenuous LOC.
Back in N. Europe the Allies are bombing coastal sectors. Don't know if this is preparatory or feint.
Another landing! This time the Allies have chosen to visit Southern France.
The Luftwaffe is able to take control of the shipping lanes, and reveals/isolates several Allied units offshore.
In the Operation Achilles mop up the Luftwaffe again imposes high levels of interdiction over the trapped Allied forces, this time strengthening the cordon and ensuring there will be no escape.
Overview of Southern Italy:
Back in southern France a welcoming party is arranged for our latest guests.
Garrison requirements in light of the newest invasion:
In Niebull an obelisk honoring those who died on German soil defending Germany from the invaders is erected. German supervised work crews begin the laborious task of restoring Danish infrastructure destroyed in the wake of the Allied raid.

Turn 62
Sep 2, 1944
A massive, and under appreciated, effort is undertaken to restore Danish infrastructure. I can't defend the coasts until I can get depots back in place.
The Allies land an isolated raid.
Not far from where 7th Army's reserve lies in refit.
Another Allied invasion hit the beaches in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
On the southeastern French coast more multi-national forces wash ashore in support of last week's landing.
Across southern France reinforcements are redirected to wall off the emerging threats.
The invaders in SE France are pushed back toward the beaches.
In Italy the Allies remain trapped.
Mopping up operations are completed by 1st Army and 1st FJ Army.
Overall picture in S. Italy

Re: turn 62
I am a complete newbie to the game, so excuse me if the question is a bit stupid.
Why is it so crucial to restore the depots in order to defend to coasts? Is it because units are isolated by the landings?

Why is it so crucial to restore the depots in order to defend to coasts?
As the German player you want to have your garrisons within 3 hexes of a depot so they're not using trucks to move supplies, and so that they can maximize their supplies and CV.
I don't want any formations melting away because they're distant from supplies, especially since the Danish garrison level is tight, and you can't usually rail a unit from another garrison to Denmark and get off the train in the same turn to fix it. Unlike the EF box, garrison penalties are swift and sharp.
Is it because units are isolated by the landings?
More just me just post hoc justifying the German AI sending apparently every engineer crew OKW could scrounge up to repair traitorous Danish railways instead of fix German factories. I don't want to spend the AP assigning them either, so I just deal with it.

Languedoc and Acquitaine are pretty much the worst places to make an amphib landing. Far from aircover, no local ports, heavy woods and hills just off the beaches, close to the French railnet making German response easy. I have never bothered to build defenses in those sectors he landed in, and this is a illustration why.
Other than that, they're perfect!

Ok.. I will take note to limit the use of trucks to an absolute minimum.
