There was quite a bit of action in orbit during this fight.

This has gone on so long I have been anticipating stronger fleet forces to arrive, but that has not yet happened.

after taking Tebren 1, I get offered peace for a mining station captured from the Banoserit Territory- which only had the one colony. I gladly accepted.

My economy at the end of the most recent round of war, after I had scraped all the Banoserit ships that I did not want. My reputation is now Dubious because of the attack on Tebren.

Home and Invasion Fleets (now running on fumes, no fuel) begin the arduous trek back to the Varacta refueling station- which I took a great gamble on leaving undefended.

Zunama Sicut Junction 2 is one of the colonies that had a LSP which was scrapped earlier, because it was far enough way from the Banoserit front that I felt it was safe to do so. But now, what would you know? A Pirate battleship is paying a visit. Crap...

Well, that's two gaming sessions down the tubes with no screenshots- one due to a rather advanced state of inebriation, the other to a similarly advanced attack of space cadetedness. [8|] I will post the next batch later today. What is quite interesting is that by now radical differences in technological development are making themselves apparent between races. That, and the fact that the Zenox lost their technological edge some time ago...

Yes, every AI will research weapons out to end game quickly, but they do have a weakness. Once the research script is over, the AI starts researching randomly. This is when a player can catch up because the AI has to follow build templates, and the build templates are tied to the preferred racial weapon. The racial help files will tell what race uses what.

I have also seen one or two AI's always bigger and tougher. Why they are that way idk. Seems to have no rhyme or reason to it. I've had Atuuks be the tough guy on the block before. Again, though, hang on. The AI gets easier.

Greetings everybody! An old injury has kept me sidelined for the last week... [:)]

As far as this game goes, it ended (again) with my home world disappearing into a cloud of flame and smoke as a result of a Shakturi world destroyer appearing at my home system. My only gripe (and all it is is a gripe) is that when the Shakturi appear, and the Ancient Guardians give you their fleet, it so happens that that fleet is limited to YOUR propulsion technology... which in this case meant that there was less than a snowball's chance in Hades of the Guardian fleet making it to my home world in time to defend against the Shakturi. Needless to say, my fleet was nowhere near up to snuff to the task. Yes, I am sad, pissed off and bummed out... but that is all part of the fun of this game. The bottom line: in the RetreatUE mod I will definitely never again go with Very Expensive (999k) Research. [:-] This makes twice now that the Shakturi have wiped the floor with me as a result of that setting.

However... while I have been laid up I have started another game and AAR, this time primarily in the form of a story (currently at just under 5000 words). I will interject screenshots to accentuate the story, but there will not be quite so many shots. I am hoping that it will still be easy enough to follow. If not, I trust that you all will let me know. The settings this time are the same as the immediately preceding except for the following: Old Start, Research at Normal ( and yes, in an Old Start in RetreatUE mod it matters as there is a ton of tech still to research). I did Old Start because I really wanted to see more of the later Tech Tree in the RetreatUE mod. I am playing Zenox. I am a little biased, but I think the story is coming along pretty well. This one will start tomorrow. [8D]

Wait, I can start it now... [;)]
