By being out of ideas, Hollywood is brand extending their franchises to dust. I'm not going to bother to look up the name, but I went to the Star Wars flick that came out 2-3 years ago and I was very disappointed. It was an obvious rehash of the plot of the first one (and by first, I mean 1977). That was it for me. I won't watch any more. I won't introduce my daughter to the series. Reviews of the recent Solo movie tell me I have made the right call.
TV series are the future for us American geezers. Everything on the big screen is made for teens and/or a big Chinese audience. TV shows (not sitcoms, but the good stuff on cable and Netflix) focus on a smaller demographic and can feature an in-depth story arc that's interesting and long enough for those of us who play WITP-AE.[;)]
Cheers,
CC

Just binged the second season of "Travelers" on Netflix with GOTP. Excellent writing, acting, and questions left unanswered. And no ads.

The Last Jedi was dog excrement. I love the franchise and couldn't bother watching the last 45 minutes. Glad I didn't pay $$$ for theater tickets.

Solo was an "ok" movie. There was a lot wrong with it (writing and cameo-direction choices) and I would have done the movie much differently... but the actors that played Han and Lando were great.
Spoiler!!!
I really, really REALLY disliked the Maw, the Kessel Run, "that" cameo, and that hardly any of the previous movies character's were used. The background was there to make Solo a fascinating movie. Instead we got a "ho-hum space heist" movie.

Any TV-shows you can recommend for a non-American geezer?

Game of Thrones [;)]
Westworld. I really liked season 1, but 2 is turning into a disappointment to me.
Same with Designated Survivor.

DS is cancelled.
I hear good things about WW, but without Yul . . . [8D]
Let me recco Travelers on Netflix. A different kind of time-travel show.

Hi all,
I watched last night (Saturday) with wife - we both love the "Star Wars"! [:)]
It was OK movie that filled the gaps in story that was told in original (i.e. "main") storyline... all in all typical summer blockbuster entertainment... [:D]
