decrease your attack by one column with 2 SP to D 2A
apply D to Trieste, 2A to damaged Trieste, Zara, Trento in priority order. skip any that have a half abort.
You should have a 2D 3A to apply to the allies.

Turn 1. Sep/Oct 1939. Allies #8. Italian Coast. Round 1. Surface Battle.

The French and Italians trade blows with the French getting slightly the worse of it.

Both sides stay for a potential 2nd round, however neither side finds so combat ends.

Turn 1. Sep/Oct 1939. Allied #8. North Sea.

Germany attempts to initiate naval combat. Both sides react with a fighter. The RAF sends a fighter to the 0-box and the Luftwaffe to the 1-box.

Neither side finds. No combat.

The US is not happy, a chit is lost form the Germany/Italian entry pool.

The axis declined to attempt the intercept. The French CA and inf division continued Beirut, Syria.

In order not to cut into their production the CW had to take care in which oil they used. This is even more subtle that it seems as explained as follows. The CW didn't want to use any oil currently saved in England, which is needed for production because of the disruption of convoy routes through the Med. To not use the saved oil point required the CW to use two oil points "defaulted" for production to Glasgow and Birmingham. On the surface that's ok because once they use these two oil points the convoys used to ship them from Canada to England are freed up and then could be used to ship two oil points from Venezuela "defaulted" for save in Canada. However, since the oil points from Venezuela are "traded" resources this substitution (or change in production) MUST be done PRIOR to the final production phase, at which time no changes can be made to traded resources. The subtle part is that changes to traded resources can still be made AFTER preliminary production during phases like use oil or even army/crops breakdown as long as one remembers to bring up the production form during one of those phases for the country in question. For example, if one waited to the army/corps breakdown phase to change production but the country in question didn't have any units to breakdown then one has waited too long to make the changes. It's best to do it during the use oil phase, which every country has, if one can remember.

France is woefully unprepared for total way as illustrated by their lack of oil. Hard choices had to be made on which units to reorganize.

With the ability to save only 1 oil per turn while neutral, the USA can afford to be wasteful in their use of oil. Normally, I'd selected 0.2 oil points worth of units not to have reorganized in order not to have to expend the oil point.

Use Oil, USSR & China.

The USSR required 0.2 to reorganized the two subs they sent out into the Japanese coast. Thus, no oil was expended.

China had no units requiring oil to reorganize.
