Hi All, looking at getting back into the game.
Just had a time getting the window frame to work out with resolution.
Issue was that I had my display set to 125% (hard to see small writing)
Potential tip for other people, will just have to remember to change display between 100% and 125% when playing game.

Was that 4K? What a difference of trying to jump right in from 2K. 2K was a natural to make things easily work out. With 4K I had to make adjustments to get everything working together to look right. Of course I did not know where to start so I ran through several different adjustments before the light bulb lit over my head. I have to admit at the first screen I was terrified that I made a huge mistake for AE's sake. I am so much happier now though I am still getting comfortable with the differences.

What an incredibly useful little tool this is. Brilliant!! Thank you for sharing this!

The link works for me but the application wont let me agree to the ToS(nothing happened when I click it). But when I click the disagree button it closes the application as expected.

I have a 4k Display, and clicking the correct excecutable with 'run as an administrator' I only get to see a tiny part of the menu, with no buttons in sight

I just ordered WitP: AE since it was on sale. I've tried the SeeBee app, but I get an error: "Unable to find PW data!!!"

That sounds like you perhaps downloaded the latest patch (1126a or 1126b) but did not download the base game first. You need to install the base game first then run the downloaded patch to bring it up-to-date. Then set your switches to make the game work with newer hardware and versions of Windows (see the threads in this subforum about slow performance.)

The other possibility is that the downloaded game is not installing the correct shortcut icon on your desktop. As put out by Matrix, the original game puts an icon on your desktop that points to a Menu screen (the autorun.exe pointer). This is not the game - you need to create one that points to War In The Pacific Admiral Edition.exe .

I have downloaded and installed WitP:AE, then downloaded update, then downloaded Seabee, and I still get “unable to find PW data !!!” I am an elderly man who has practically no computer knowledge and need help to run game smoothly, need help from someone who can give me a step by step guide would be a great help as I have been a strategy and board gamer since my youth.I have been thru the you tube videos and followed exact instructions but still have trouble, can anyone help? 12 Posted : 12 June 2022

Please go to the shortcut for WITP-AE on you desktop and right-click on it.
This should bring up a menu - click on the one that says "Properties".
In the Properties there is a box labelled "Target".
The contents of this box may be longer than the box window, but click in the box, use the Home button to get to the start of the text in the box, then select the whole text in the box by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the mouse right until it reaches the end of the text (including any quote marks).
While this text is highlighted, press and hold CTRL, then press C to copy the text to your clipboard.
Go back to the forum and start a reply posting and Paste the copied text string into the reply (using CTRL V or right click and choose Paste) to show us what your shortcut properties target looks like. Then we can better assess the problem.

One other question - did you make any changes to the map that comes with the game? This is not a straightforward procedure.

Thank you, BBfanboy. The second possibility was the problem - it was going to autorun.exe. Also, the button to use the beta release was checked, but I don't have that installed (I have v11.26a). No to try and learn the game!

OK. been away from the game for a while. Came back, downloaded and installed the Beta v1127. Ran the game the map would lag and have sections stay on screen when hovered over. Figured I needed to adjust switches. Downloaded SeaBee and used it to correct my switches. Now I click on my shortcut and get an Error:unable to find PW data!!! error.
Help, don't have a clue where to go next except complete uninstall/reinstall.

OK went into the game directory clicked on War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe, game runs just laggy. Closed clicked on War in the Pacific Admiral Edition_noLLA.exe again runs fine except for bad laggy. Running Windows 10.

BTW, what is the difference between .exe and noLLA.exe. Obviously, my problem is in the switch changes made to the start menu using SeaBee. Do you check use Beta? I did but now wondering.

Got it running, SeaBee needed to point to launcher instead of the two exe files. Thought I had the problem licked, now after over two hours running different setups with SeaBee, the game is unplayable.
With full screen it's laggy, with the windowed mode I lose the bottom of the screen and playability. I've tried different resolutions.
What I need now is an honest opinion. Is the Beta v1127 worth the trouble? I can delete the install and go back to the old setup that worked, at least it was playable. Are there sufficient upgrades to warrant the trouble?

I would not recommend using the 1127 BETA at this time. Wait for the validated update. Use either 1126a or 1126b, your choice.

Thank You Nomad for the reply. I'll uninstall and reinstall in the morning. Any recommendation as to which Beta is better? 1126a or b? Logic would dictate b is the later version, but that could also mean less bugs corrected.

The b was not officially adopted by all developers if I remember correctly but plenty of people have used it. Either one will work fine, check just what the b version does improve.
