And, on the far right, Sherman is a casualty! That made the attack well worth the effort. Sherman’s loss awards the Confederacy 75 VPs.

In the Union turn, a set of attacks have already taken place (I must have lost the turn save with it). More are set up.

The results are similar to the rest of the Union results on Day Two so far. One hex was gained. I admit this is starting to become tedious, but that’s how it really is going.

Turn 32 (1:00pm)
The Confederates must counter attack where the Union has broken through on the left. Elsewhere, the breakthroughs in the center can be discounted. One hex is abandoned to shorten the line and remove a vulnerable salient.

The Union sets up a first set of attacks. Note that Union units finally advance over the stream in the center.

These were costly attacks, with no success. The Union had an initial manpower advantage at the start of Day Two, but that has been mostly attritted away.

Turn 33 (2:00pm)
The Confederacy adjusts its lines to keep the strengths as uniform as possible. The one Confederate Day Two reinforcement has just arrived at the front line area (I forgot about it for several turns).

The first set of Union attacks are set up. Note that the final Union division from the Army of the Ohio has arrived and crossed the river.

Note that the commander of III Corps (Brigadier General Hardee) was a casualty in the last set of attacks. The Union will receive 10 VPs as a result. More attacks are set up.
