So to keep the fans entertained, I will provide a teeny Role Play scene.

"It is a shame, sir... More than a shame..." Alan prompted in a desperate hope to restart the discussion, before he was interrupted by the voice on the other end.
"Very well sir. I will do what I can with the resources available. Good day sir."
He waited until he heard the tell tale 'click' through the receiver then slammed the phone down with violent force.

He looked around the all but empty warehouse. It was located in some satellite suburb of Toronto with a common enough street name.
Inside, or at least on the door to his private office, which was barely less sparse than the warehouse itself, the door simply read BPW, Executive Office.
"Bletchley Park West," he mumbled to himself. "Might as well stand for Bletchley Park Wasted."

It was then he noticed a man in a suit through the frosted glass in the reception room. He had sent his secretary home early, because he didn't want her to hear
the conversation he had just participated in... but it was of little matter as little was going to be going on here for quite some time.
He got up, and let out a sigh to control his anger as he walked to the door and opened it. "May I help you?"
"No, rather I believe I can help you Dr. Turing," the stranger said.
An American, Alan quickly realized as he replied, "Oh, rather how would that be Mr...?"
"Smith. Agent Smith, from OSS. I've been authorized to offer you a... transfer as it were. With pre-approval from MI6."
"Are you mad?" Alan replied. "America's not even in the war."
"True, but it's just a matter of time. The boys at HYPO have cracked the Nips' diplomatic code and it doesn't take a fortune teller to predict that they can't continue for very long with the oil embargo in place."

Alan thought about the Pacific situation and it made some sense...
"So you want me to join them? The Japanese use code books, nothing like Jerry's Enigma machine."

Agent Smith just smiled and replied, "Would that make much difference for that machine you're planning to build?"
Alan was taken aback, actually rather shocked, "What?! How in the world..." He managed to avoid glancing over to his desk where the copy, the only copy, of the schematics were locked up. They had never been more than 30 feet away from him. Ever.
"Dr. Turing," Smith smiled, "you know I won't answer that question. However, may I ask one of my own? When is your government going to give you the resources to build it?"
Alan just stared at him.
"Yes, yes I know you can't answer that. Not only because you aren't allowed to, but also because you don't know."
He paused and Smith's smile became a grin. "What if I told you we already built it?"
Alan continued to stare but with a completely different expression.
"Dr. Turing, your help would be greatly appreciated in making... full use of said machine; And I guarantee that any all information uncovered will be passed on to MI6 and your Government."
Alan Turing's expression changed once again as he extended his right hand for a handshake.

Previous Axis Turn:
Clear in Europe. Clear in Russia.

Rommel's forces take Baghdad and two panzer corps are spotted heading down the southern roads.

In the Gulf of Finland, 2 German Destroyers attack S-4. The first forces a dive and the second exchanges 1 damage with the Russian sub.
The U-boat attacks the Marat in port and does 3 damage to the Battleship.

A Hungarian Army cuts the line between Rowno and Zhitomir, re-pocketing the Russian forces to the west.
The fortress cities of Daugavpils and Przemysl are bypassed, and 3 infantry corps surround Brest-Litvosk.
The Russian corps defending Riga succumbs to 5 waves of various bombers and a German Army.
In all, 4 Russian Infantry Corps and a Mechanized are destroyed this turn. A Light Armor takes 3 damage and 2 damage is done to the Infantry corps defending Tarnopol.

Elsewhere little resistance is encountered by the Germans as they continue to push forward. Plotsk is taken triggering the Finns.
There are rumors of panzers moving north along the Baltic coastal road as Liepaja and Ventspils are captured. If true, it is possibly they could be veterans of the England campaign.

German fighters are spotted staging forward very aggressively east of Rowno, and within range of multiple units near the western pocket.
The Hungarian(?) HQ is also spotted within range and not completely protected by a ZOC in Proskurov.

Damage reported to Axis units is much lighter this turn:
GE DD -1, Army -1 (Bialystok), Mech -1(near Bialystok), TAC Bmbr 1 AA hit (Riga), Corps -1 (Minsk), Army -1 (Lwow).

In Scotland, Wick is finally taken. Northern Ireland remains free for now.

Finland joins the Axis and prepares for war (not active on my turn however).

Axis liberate Iraq.

The Italians form an expeditionary force in the East (so will now have 2 HQs in theatre).

Franco sends the Blue Division.

7th FSJ suffers desertions (down to a 1 strength).


Allied Turn
Clear in Europe. Clear in Russia.

Order 270 is read to all Russian forces.

Marat (BB) steams out of blockaded Leningrad port and manages to avoid U-81.

The 3 strength Mech south of Luck destroys the 7th FSJ (str 1) and takes a point of damage in doing so.*
Orders are then later given to destroy the vehicles and to attempt to escape disguised as civilians (i.e. the 2 str Mech was disbanded).

The Light Tanks (str 4) near Zhitomir roll next to the newly established Me109 airfield and attack the fighters (str 8, 1 exp, lvl 1) and do 2 damage to them.
A Russian Infantry Corps (str 9, lvl 1) from the trapped pocket with (relatively) decent morale/readiness moves to the west side of the fighter base and attacks them doing 3 damage and taking 1.
The Infantry Corps (str 8, lvl 1) in Luck gives up it's entrenchment to move into the swamp and attack the fighters as well, doing another point of damage.
The Kiev fighter wing (str 7), which escaped the encirclement, extracts revenge and shatters the remaining German fighters (str 2).*
The Light Tanks pull back a hex next to Zhitomir.
An Infantry Corps is then ordered to move to defend Luck.

Apparently the Iraq convoy shuts down with the loss of Baghdad. [:(]

Allied Turn Sept 9, 1941

Previous Axis Turn:

In Iraq Rommel's recon unit seizes the road from Mosul to the northern Persia border.
2 Panzers (str 8 & 7) continue down the southern Iraqi roads. A Panzer ends its turn in Qurna and forward elements report a UK Infantry Corps dug in at Basra.

Finnish border units are partially reinforced.

The German sub pokes around Leningrad and Russian/Finnish border coastline and finds nothing.
2 German Destroyers attack S-4 and no damage is done in either battle (might have been storms in the Gulf of Finland).
One of the German Destroyers also discovers Marat in the Narva port. Shots are fired by both sides but neither land any hits.

The Germans attempt to take Talinn by Para drop and the paratroopers (str 10, 1 exp) take 3 damage from the Russian Infantry Corps defending the city.

A German Corps takes 2 damage probing the defenses of Daugavpils, then moves northward and spots a Soviet Army in Ostrov.
A German Army (lvl 2) and a Corps (lvl 0) set up a siege of Daugavpils.

The Russian Army in Minsk is destroyed, mostly by 5 waves of Luftwaffe bombers.
The defenders do manage AA hits on 2 German Medium Bombers and 1 Tactical Bomber as well as 1 point of damage to a German Infantry Corps.

Brest-Litovsk also falls this turn, with the defending Infantry Corps destroyed. The Axis cost: GE Corps -1, GE Corps -2, GE Mech -1, and IT Corps -1.

Przemysl is ignored, with an Italian Corps (str 8) standing watch over Russian defenders.

A German Infantry Corps cuts the road between Zhitomir and Kiev.
The Russian Corps (str 7, lvl 0) in Luck is destroyed, costing a German Mech and an Italian Corps 1 damage each.

An Italian Corps (str 10) attacks the Russian Corps (str 8, lvl 1) in Rowno and takes 2 damage, without hurting the defenders.

Near Zhitomir the Russian Light Tanks take 2 damage from an attack (didn't catch which unit exactly).
Zhitomir itself, defended by an elite upgraded Garrison (str 6, 1 exp, lvl 1), is attacked by German Tactical bombers and a Hungarian and Bulgarian Corps.
The Garrison not only survived but took only 2 damage; and to add insult to injury the Tac Bmbr took an AA hit, the Hungarian took 1 damage and the Bulgarian 2.

A Romanian Army (str 10, lvl 0) attacks, or perhaps is surprised by, a Soviet Army (lvl 1) in Cherkasy. The Romanian Army takes 3 damage.

German fighters scout to the east of Kiev, and are intercepted by the same Soviet fighters that destroyed the other German fighters. Luftwaffe pilots, seeking revenge, exact a heavy toll on the Russians (4 or 5 damage).*

Germany has added 14 land units, 1 air unit and 3 naval units in the last turn! [X(][X(]

HMS Montgomery (str 10, ASW 1) finds U-106 (str 10, sub 2) east of St. Johns. Montgomery takes 1 damage and U-106 takes 2.
HMCS Assiniboine (str 10, ASW 1) then arrives to assist and does another 2 damage.
HMS Illustrious sends an strike against U-106, but the sub dives to avoid it. HMS Montgomery then finds the sub only 1 hex away, to the southeast.
HMCS Saguenay arrives and forces another dive.

The Soviet Army (str 10, lvl 1) in Cherkasy attacks the Romanian Army (str 7, lvl 0) does 2 damage to it and forces it to retreat southwest.
A cut off Russian Corps (str 8, lvl 1) next to Rowno does 2 damage to a Yugoslavian Corps (str 8, lvl 0).

Marat (str 7) makes its way out of Narva and exchanges fire with a German Destroyer (str 7, lvl 1) does 2 damage and takes 1. The destroyer retreats and Marat moves into the port at Talinn.

A German Medium Bomber and a Panzer (str 9, 2 exp, lvl 1) take an AA hit and 1 damage each attacking the fortress at Daugavpils.
Daugavpils then falls to multiple bombers and a German Army.

A Hungarian Corps takes 1 damage against the improved garrison at Zhitomir, which is quickly disposed of.

A Hungarian Army (str 9, lvl 0), east of Rowno, takes 1 damage attacking a Russian Corps that is trying to flee through the Pripyat marshes.

A German Corps (str 9, lvl 1) is surprised by a Russian Corps at Gomel, neither are hurt in the sparse fighting. A German Tactical Bomber is called for support and does 1 damage to the Russian defenders.

A 2nd Panzer unit (both are presumed veterans of Sea Lion) is spotted southwest of Orsha.

Scouts from the Indian Corps in Basra report that the Panzers to their northwest are in pretty bad shape (Supply 0, Readiness 22%, Morale 4%).
The Gurkhas aren't in great shape themselves (Supply 5, Readiness 35%, Morale 21%), but a better opportunity will not be had and they attack doing 1 damage to the Panzers (but also giving them 1 pip of experience... sigh [8|]).

New England Whalers return home with stories of "Iron whales". The coast guard is sent out and discovers 3 pods, 2 German and 1 Italian in a east to west line due west of Boston.

HMS Ark Royal does 3 damage to U-47 over 2 strikes at the cost of 1 point to her air wing.
3 Destroyers (HMS Lancaster, HMCS Assiniboine and HMCS Saguenay) cruise next to each of the subs: U-47 (str 7, lvl 2), Leonardo da Vinci (str 10) and U-73 (str 8, lvl 2) to prevent their attacking the convoys.

Marat (str 5) attempts to break out into the Baltic and runs into a German Destroyer (str 9), both take 2 damage before Marat manages to break contact.

The Russian Armored Train does 1 damage to a Finnish Corps (str 7, lvl 2) southwest of Lappeenranta.

A cut off Russian Corps (str 7, lvl 1) southeast of Rowno exchanges 1 damage with a Hungarian Army (str 8).

The Russian Army (str 10, lvl 1) in Cherkasy does 2 damage to a German Corps (str 10, lvl 1) while taking 1 back.

In spite of the presence of Destroyers German units raid the Indian UK convoy line for 21 MPP (perhaps there are more to the south?)

Allied Turn October 15, 1941

Previous Axis Turn:
Mud in Europe/Ukraine. Rain & Mud in Russia. Storms in the Atlantic

A German U-boat (str 7, lvl 2) attacks a UK Destroyer (str 10, lvl 1) and does 3 damage while only taking 2 back.

An Italian Medium Bomber in Iraq strikes the Indian Corps in Basra and takes a hit from AA fire.

The Russian Corps in Gomel is not protected by the rain and the overcast clouds only dispense wave after wave of Stukas which eventually shatter the defenders.

The cut off Russian Corps outside of Rowno is destroyed, but not without first doing 2 more damage to the Hungarian Army (str 7, lvl 0) in the area.

The plucky Corps defending Odessa comes under heavy attack, including 2 Medium Bombers, 1 Tactical Bomber and multiple ground units including a Garrison at the end.
They manage to hang on, just barely, at 1 strength while inflicting 1 point of damage to a German Corps (str 11, lvl 2), a Romanian Corps (str 10, lvl 2) and a Romanian Army (str 10, lvl 0).

Spain continues to be wooed by the Axis (+9% diplo hit).


Allied Turn
Mud in Europe/Ukraine. Clear in Russia. Clear in Finland. Clear in the Atlantic. Clear in Canada and America.

The survivors from Odessa, board transports and evacuate the city.

The Soviet Armored Train does another point of damage to a Finnish Corps (str 6, lvl 2), but also provides it a pip of experience.

The pods of Iron Whales in the New England and Nova Scotia waters is increasing. US and Canadian Whaling vessels identify 5 pods of German descent and 1 of Italian.

HMS Formidable forces U-73 (str 8, lvl 2) to dive, HMS Salmon re-finds U-73 and Formidable does 1 damage to the sub while taking 1 damage to her air wing.
HMS Glorious whiffs and forces a dive out of U-73. Salmon finds her again, this time too far away to be attacked from the waters south of Charlottetown.
HMS Ark Royal though tries her luck and forces a dive out of U-73, again to be found by Salmon. Too far away for a 2nd strike Ark Royal targets the Italian sub hits it for 1 damage.
HMS Javelin forces U-73 to dive yet again.
HMCS Saguenay is sent to try her luck against the suspected heavily damaged U-boat. She identifies U-47 (str 5, lvl 2) as the suspected damaged sub and aggressively goes after her doing 3 damage but eating a torpedo for 2 damage back.
HMCS Assiniboine comes to her aid and sinks U-47 with a well placed pattern of depth charges. Assiniboine now has 2 subs to her list of Honors.
2 Carrier strikes do 2 damage to a U-boat south of St. Pierre et Miquelon.
ORP Blyskawica (str 10, lvl 1) forces Leonardo da Vinci (str 9) to dive, then moves next the U-114 (str 10, lvl 2) west of Boston.
HMS Lancaster (str 7, lvl 1) then lands a good hit of 2 damage on Leonardo and avoids reprisal.
USS Somers moves next to U-37 (str 11, exp 1, lvl 2), east of Long Island, and watches her.

Axis raiders shut down the Indian Convoy line again, 21 MPP lost.*

The skies deliver Rain in Russia and the Ukraine (likely Finland too), though no mud, for Germany's turn.

A German Corps (str 8, lvl 2) exchanges 1 damage with the cut off Russian Corps (str 8) in Rowno.
A German Army (str 9, lvl 2) does 1 damage to a Russian Corps defending Kremenchuk.
The abandoned Odessa is taken as is the Krivoy Rog mine.

HMS Montgomery engages the original contact and identifies it as U-505 (str 4, lvl 2) and does 1 damage to the sub.

Do you actually write all this stuff or is there a recap you copy?

I have a base template as a txt file.
Then I delete the section under Previous Axis Turn and Allied Turn (to be filled in with new writing).
Next I just update/edit the numbers in the Reports section so I don't retype that every time.*

Then I copy the txt file and paste it into a post reply window. Add/delete a space and a smiley to get the squiggly red lines to look for spelling errors.

*It's also why the numbers may seem to jump as sometimes they are off, due to my forgetting to update some part of it, or not saving it properly to the text file.

I take multiple screen shots and paste them into paint. Then I have to select and carefully line up the overlaps. Then select & cut out the hidden from view portions.

The process is a big reason I usually only do 1 turn a day.

It was worse when I first started doing it. I had to record the previous player's turn on to my phone to catch every single combat and result. I won't ever do that again.

It's a matter of supply. If the supply from the city is high enough (5 or up), it's good to go if the rails gets cleared

Allied Turn January 21, 1942

Previous Axis Turn:

U-114 (str 4) slips between HMS Javelin and HMCS Assiniboine heading southeast.

Germany declares war on Persia.
Rommel's Recon unit stops just short of Mehabad.
The Anti Tank unit attacks a Persian Garrison at Bandar Mahshahr doing 2 damage then moves away and seizes Ahwaz.
Kermanshah and Khorramabad are captured as well.

A Finnish unit's ZOC cuts the rail line to Murmansk east of Kestenga.
A Finnish Corps attacks the Soviet Armored Train, but neither side takes any damage.
The Russian Corps defending Ostrov is killed without inflicting any damage to the Germans.
Northeast of Ostrov a Russian AA unit takes 3 damage from a German Panzer, while a Russian Corps takes 2 damage and does 1 back to a German Corps.
The Russian Army directly north of Ostrov is currently pinned (but can hex swap with the AA).
A Russian Corps in Vitebsk takes 1 damage.
The Russian Corps in Orsha fairs much better than the one in Ostrov. It holds its ground and survives after taking 9 damage. As a bonus it does 1 damage to a German Army, Corps and Panzer.
Italian paratroopers land on the road/rail line between Kiev and Konotop, pocketing 2 Russian Armies, 2 Corps and a AA unit between Kiev and Chernigov.
2 Russian Armies in Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporizhia are pocketed by a German Corps moving through Melitopol (and to the northeast) and a Panzer swinging around the north of Dnepropetrovsk
and cutting the lines behind the city.

A Russian Corps in Kharkov moves forward to free up the rail line to Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporizhia, as well as cutting off (at least temporarily) the Panzer unit.
The two Armies are then quickly railed out before the trap is closed for good.
The Kiev situation is worse.
A Russian Army (str 10, lvl 1, supply 4, morale 79, readiness 64) attacks the Italain paratrooper (str 8, lvl 1, supply 0, morale 34, readiness 37) to try and open the road but does no damage
much less budge the Italians.
1 strength Corps in Orsha rails out and is replaced by the Corps that was defending the town's southeastern flank.
The Army north of Ostrov hex swaps with the AA unit, allowing the Army to retreat another hex to the northeast.
A Russian Corps reopens the rail line to Murmansk west of Kestenga and does 1 damage to a Finnish Garrison (lvl 2, supply 0) in the process.

The USA starts shipping goods through Persia, though they and the Russians know it will be short lived. Still the Soviet morale is boosted (not reflected below due to end of turn event).

US diplomats convince the Saudi king to start shipping oil to the US (+9% diplo hit).

Axis Raiders hit the US convoy line to Murmansk for 18 MPP worth of damage.
