Scen001, beta patch v1
On the map, there is a minor road leading from Gilgit north. There is no minor road in pwhexe
Thanks again. Road added.

The road and rail between Moulmein and the dot base named "Sittang Bridge" should be cut.The Sittang is the river between Pegu and "Sittang Bridge" and a railway bridge had been constructed in 1908 across it. However, the river between Moulmein and "Sittang Bridge" is the Salween - and it has not been bridged until 2006. Before that date the river crossing was by ferry.
Same goes for the Brahmaputra crossings, that river remained un-bridged until 1962.
Looks like you are right. I wonder though, what cutting those rail lines would do to the gameplay (including the AI). Do you have any experience with that?
This would also mean a change to the map art, so I will have to think about it...

A question about the map:
From Subic Bay (78,76) to San Fernando (80, 74) is three hexes. From Subic Bay to Lingayen (79, 75) the movement is four hexes because even though they look connected by sea, hex 79, 74 does not connect. My PT boats at Subic Bay have to go through San Fernando to get to Lingayen even though it looks like they should be able to avoid San Fernando.
Is there an error somewhere here? If so, it is minor but still . . .
Having a look at the map art, it looks like the map hexside between Lingayen and 79,74 should be Ocean+Land, and not Land only. I will take a closer look and if it does look like an error I will change the hexside to Ocean+Land.

The hex NE of Peshawar has a minor road on the map, but no minor road is present in pwhexe
Thanks. Fixed (also changed the map data for the secondary road going NE in Peshawar (57,3)). Now you can move your units more quickly into the Khyber Pass
Hopefully there is a an undocumented supply source of hopium coming from Afghanistan via Khyber Pass for moribund Allied players in 1941-42.

Afghanistan supplies the hopium. Colombia supplies the copium. Now that Jamaica is in the game we have a Caribbean connection.

One thing that still bothers me is that large swaths of northern India and southern Canada are covered by Clear Developed hexes, which have Main Roads in them.
Take a look at the northern India.
Basically, from Darjeeling to Lahore you have a highway for armored units. Land som Jap tank regiments around Calcutta and you can motor your way to Lahore and beyond. I have a hard time believing all the roads there merit their Main Road status. Perhaps some of them could be downgraded to Minor Roads, which are a feature on Clear Cultivated hexes.
Just a thought.

If what you are stating is true and if you want to change those roads to minor roads, then you would either have to change the terrain or change the type of road in the Clear Cultivated hexes. That sound like coding and then making sure that all of the changes are correct as well as having to make sure that it works. It would also mean a lot more work on the map files as well.

Minor change (all I ever come up with):
Great Falls should be connected to a railway. The third, and last, transcontinental railroad line to go through Montana went through Great Falls in 1913.

Fort Hertz (66,38), unless placed in India for game play purposes, should be in northern Burma. Either 66,39 (Mountain) or 66,40 (Jungle Rough). Land distance of 150 miles from Myitkina would suggest 66,39 as a better location.

Wendover Airfield should be moved one hex Northwest. The Western Pacific railroad runs right along the northern edge of the base and when active there was a railroad siding running into the base supply area.
A minor railroad could be added running from Reno to Las Vegas through Tonopah.
Also a level 1 airbase at Reno, Reno Army Air Base, used to train transport pilots for the supply missions over the Himalayas from airfields in the Assam Valley of India to China ("The Hump"), as the mountainous terrain of the Sierra Nevada between Reno and Fairfield-Suisun Army Air Base in California was similar. Mare Island in the game would represent this air base.
Perhaps also Airbase units at Reno, Tonopah and Las Vegas (or appearing in mid-42 at these bases) to represent the training at these locations during the war.

These OOB and map fixes are interesting for another thread about mods, but somewhere in this thread on the new Beta they set out the very limited list of things that would be fixed, and then closed that input while they test the new Beta. I think your input is far too late here.

Yeah probably, unfortunately I went from the forum for a while and completely missed the beta release until last week.
oh, well...

Hi Andrew,
For some reason with your updated stock map from your website I cannot move any units in Japan to the western most island of Kyushu. I tried the new beta and this was not an issue. I tried my old install of the base game and this was not an issue. Could you or anyone else check and see if you have the same problem with the updated stock map? I re-downloaded all of your files to double check and I still get the issue. I tried different scenarios and still get the issue. If you do not get the same problem would you know what might be wrong on my end? Anyone else get this problem? Thank you!

From what I see in the picture, there appears to be a single track railroad line between those hexes but it is not showing up in the railroad network.

Yes I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this using the updated stock map?

I have the last official patch and stock map - which shows the major railroad ending at Shimonoseki, a minor railway link SW from there to Kyushu, and then resuming on a major rail network. The picture that was posted has the ROAD/path network shown (reds and pink). For Rail you want the grey coloured segments shown by pressing the Y key.
It is possible that in programming the map the segment from the SW edge of the Shimonoseki hex to the middle of the first hex on Kyushu was missed for the rail link.

Ah yes sorry so neither the road nor the rail connect. It is connected in all other maps. So you are seeing this as well using Andrew's most updated stock map?
