Hi all,
ORIGINAL: Mogami

Hi, Rather then find out what answers are needed to fudge the BB results I'm interested in tracking how the BB do against one another in PBEM. I know only one of my opponenets so far.

BB Gangut versus BB King George V (Mogami versus RogueUSMC) began today. Huzzah!

I am BB Richelieu... it will be interesting.... [;)]

Leo "Apollo11"

Hank and Cotton Hill would freak if they were picked as BBs that smell of "perfume."[:)]

Ended up being a King George.

Guess that beats being Prizzy Eugine(Prinz Eugen)

Prinz Eugen was an awsome dreadnought. 12X12 inch guns in triple turrets. Or do you mean the WW2 German CA, not the WWI Austrian dreadnought.

Amen to that. Bill is my role model. Specifically, the mmodel of what I don't want to become.

You're not from Louisianna. I'm a big fan of George Costanza. Reminds me of me alot. Scary but real.

I think you Ganguts should stand tall and proud. The class carried what was probably the finest 12in gun of World War I, and while we can remember the Lovecraftian superstructures added by the Soviets, we should also remember that these ships began with extremely simple and elegant lines.
The armor scheme sucked, though.
Prinz Eugen and the other Tegetthoffs also carried an excellent 12in gun, but the mounts were awful. With their gappy armor scheme, their extreme topweight, their underwater vulnerability, their lack of speed, and (in Istvan's case) the shoddy workmanship, these rate as perhaps the worst WWI dreadnoughts. But weren't they pretty?

Servus!

@Tiornu: yes they were pretty, but as you mentioned very vulnerable to torpedoes (loss of 50 % of the class). SMS Viribus Unitis (the flagship) here.

These were inspired by the Cuniberti's "Dante Alighieri" correct?

As far as I can tell, Dante Alighieri inspired the Tegetthoffs in the sense that the KuK saw an Italian dreadnought as a threat to be countered. From a design standpoint, there's little relationship beyond the triple turrets. Alighieri herself was the product of Masdea more than Cuniberti, though Cuniberti may have had some input.
