When can we expect the non-beta patch? The 1.2 or 1.3 or whatever?

The things that I think need to be addressed before the official release of the next patch are:
  • Two bugs related to protectorate changes of ownership
  • Permanent change of ownership bug related to troops on loan
  • Fix the no-lancer bug from one of the build menus
  • A fix for the TCP/IP bug in hexwar needs more testing, perhaps re-writing
  • Need more feedback on the "diplomat being reset to goodwill" TCP/IP bug report -- something I've been entirely unable to duplicate. (It sounds like a critical bug, but so far only set of people have been reporting it.)

I can't say exactly when these issues will have been satisfactorily addressed, but I'm hoping within a few weeks.

Will be great for it soon as nobody wants to start a PBEM until it's available... [8|]

Well the save games will almost certainly be backwards compatible to the current (1.2.18) version.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your patience! The updated v1.2.18 Beta with added International Serial Numbers is now online. Please note, the only change is the expansion of the valid serial numbers for the update. If you already downloaded v1.2.18 Beta and it would not accept your serial number, please download it again and it should work.

Regards,

- Erik

But I still can't register my game. Is it possible to resolve this problem in near future ?

I agree.

While I appreciate the efforts and continual push for improvements, it has been over 5 months that we've been waiting for this patch. I sincerely hope this can be completed and the game made as good as it could be as soon as possible.

Same here. I shelved it for many months and people seem reluctant to start a PBEM until the official patch comes out. Bring it on!

Just popped back in after about 3 months away. Disappointed to here the patch is not out. This game has great potential but waiting for fixes before I leap back in to PBEM.

The only major thing we're working on toward the official release of the patch is our attempt to implement a new underlying set of TCP/IP routines. The new libraries have proven to be more difficult to implement than I anticipated because of some technical issues between my compiler version and the library files. If it drags out too much longer, I'll just revert back to the old libraries.

As everybody plays solitaire at times and a lesser number plays MP, holding up a patch that would cure the solitare problems to overhaul MP doesn't make a lot of PR sense. MP can be fixed later.

I can understand the need to resolve as many issues as possible, but due to the extended length in getting the patch out, the TCP/IP should have been set aside for the time being.

Welp, some more needs to be sorted I think...

Plz check my thang in the Beta-thread for the problem encountered.

Would it be possible to put an option in the next release to turn off fog of war? Perhaps not completely off, but at least allowing us to see armies being moved across the continent, without getting knowledge of troop strengths or even commanders.

I have had this game shelved for months, waiting on the patch. Is it dead? That would be a shame. It is a great game, or would be if a few glitches were ironed out.

Nope, not dead. The patch is coming, we had an unexpected delay due to an attempt to make another upgrade to the TCP/IP side. I expect we'll have the official patch released by the end of May.
