Roger
knew the story, just kind of busy and didn't have the time to dig it up

the Zone system they ended up working out was a pretty good one

I actually didn't know it off the top of my head, but I guessed V1 killers, and flicked through Freeman and a couple of others. Except Freeman came up trumps, and showed me I was wrong!

Which were the only 2 RAF Bomber Command squadrons to serve with that command throughout the war?

Nice try, but no.
Formed April 1940 from the NZ Wellington flight, and served in 3 Group for the rest of the war, so out by 7 months or so. I don't know if you were trying for Wellington flight as part of its history? (No dice, not a squadron!)

It was the first NZ sqd, and only NZ night bomber sqd in BC. Won one VC (July 1941 Munster). 4th highest number of raids for a BC heavy sqd, most sorties in 3 Group, and BC (8017), second highest casualties (193 a/c, 2.4%), possibly 3rd highest bomb tonnage in BC (21600).

Better redo the database! (Based at Feltwell, then Mildenhall, Newmarket and Mepal. Flew wellingtons, Stirlings and then Lancs). Haven't got dates, but I am sure the web will provide

It's on the DB Sarge, as 75 Sqn.

Technically 75 (New Zealand) Sqn although it had a high proportion of Kiwis it's a RAF Sqn.

Clue time? One of the answers has already been mentioned in this thread. The other is about +100, and a 'long way from home'

Obviously too hard. 44, and 149 sqds. History on request.

Substute question. Of what significant event (relevant to this thread) is today the anniversary?

First flight of the Spitfire?
Give the man a biscuit! Correct - took place in the early afternoon of 5th March 1936, or 70 years ago yesterday (now).

Your question...

What is the largest production facility, with regard to area covered, in WW2 Germany? Type of production and name of site please.

This might sound like that movie with that guy about that thing but wasnt it a vehicle plant for tanks and other armoured vehicles. It was pushed forward primarily by Speer before Aliied bombing became problematic. It was designed to be the response to American Assembly line production. Was it a Henshel or MIAG?

More of a question from me since i'm intrigued:

The complex of Nordhausen - what did it produce? Rocket engines?
