No naval air. No naval movement.

Italy initiate combat in the East Med. Germany decline to fly their bomber to the sea area. CW has a FTR3 on Malta. Will that Beaufighter assist in the East Med? It can reach the 2-box.

I would save surprise points to go for maximum damage but they are Mayhemizer's boats so I'd better let him decide.

One Italian submarine is damaged and the entire force is aborted.

Both the French cruisers are aborted as well. To what port does the French cruisers return to?

No strategic bombing.

Germany launch 4 bombers, ground striking three hexes.

France has two fighters and AA on standby. Will France try to intercept any of the German bombers? If not, will France use their AA?

The ground strike was a disappointment. (and I messed up two of the screenshots)

In the first hex only the AA was disorganized and the AA would have become disorganized anyway.

The second hex has better success but still below average. (see picture)

The third hex manage to hit one of the units, the garrison.

No rail movement.

Japanese forces occupy a minor, unimportant, Communist, Hamlet in Northern China and US fusses about it. US should be grateful that someone takes the Communists seriously! (One US Entry Chit added for Tungkwan)

Impulse: 4 (Axis)

Land Movement (cont):
Germany

The austere and forbidding General von Leeb, with his high moral code, is seen by Hitler as being the man to get things back on track (Hitler obviously choosing to ignore the fact that von Leeb is an anti-Nazi and a defensive warfare specialist who's never commanded a tank in his life.....). But von Leeb is hurting - his son Alfred was killed during the Polish Campaign. Getting this war won is the only thing on his mind and he's keen to make a success of this opportunity.

Trouble is, von Leeb is an officer that I've had problems with in the past - notably in Decisive Campaigns: Barbarossa where he was always such an argumentative wotsit. He better not let me down this time....

"If von Leeb ever tried to smile, it would crack his face." So said Field Marshall Siegmund Wilhem List.

Impulse: 4 (Axis)

The failure of the bombers, and particularly the vaunted Stuka Geschwadern, has soured von Leeb's concerned mood yet further. But, with Hitler's desperate wish for success and his closeness to Goering, von Leeb knows that he cannot use the failure of the 'fat one' and his fly-boys to dig him out of a hole. And so von Leeb orders the panzers, newly placed under his command, into action.

von Leeb's HQ moves into southern Belgium, joined by the XLVIII Panzer Corps, the latter to get some R+R having been in constant action. VI Infantry Corps are replaced in the new front line and ordered to Brussels to keep a watch over the BEF, still stubbornly hold up in the key port of Antwerp. Its place in the line is taken over by the VII Motorised Corps - which in turn, is beefed up by the HG Panzer Division. VII Motorised's position is taken by the XLI Panzer Corps, while XLIII Infantry Corps and XLVI Mechanised Corps swap places. It is these units that will seek to crack open the French 'nut'.

Army Group C - General Ritter von Leeb

Panzergruppe Kleist
XLI Panzer Corps
XLVI Motorised Corps
VII Motorised Corps with HG Panzer Division attached
I Infantry Corps

Reserve:
XLVIII Panzer Corps
1st Motorised AA Division (88mm)
2nd Infantry Division (not taking part)

Elsewhere the German offensive results in further alterations and deployments:

The VII(SS) Infantry Corps, itching for action, is moved to the frontline, and the 1st Anti-Tank Division is brought up with it. This allows the 2nd Artillery Division to move north to provide added flank protection against the intact British forces. The experiment with 3rd Army and Panzer Group Kleist has failed and these ridiculously large formations have been broken up and the units placed into more appropriately sized formations.

Army Group B - General Gerd von Rundstedt

3rd Army
VII(SS) Infantry Corps
XLIII Infantry Corps
1st Anti-Tank Division (50mm)

18th Army
VIII Mechanised Corps with II Para Corps attached
VI Infantry Corps
LI Infantry Corps
2nd Artillery Division (105mm)
1st Cavalry Division

Army Group A - General Fedor von Bock

6th Army
X Infantry Corps
XXXVII Infantry Corps
XXVI Infantry Corps
Berlin Militia

12th Army
LXXI Infantry Corps
4th Motorised Division
1st Artillery Division
1st Tank Destroyer Division (PzJr1)

2nd Army
LXXXI Garrison Corps
LXXXVI Garrison Corps
LXXXIII Garrison Corps
LXXXVII Garrison Corps
