Axis wins initiative and despite snow in western Europe attempts to exploit Allies' failure to supply and oil their foces in Belgium and Netherlands. Three land actions.

Allies suffer for want of fighters, but one bomber clears, which proves important.

Ground support cleared through to Arnhem.

Allies don't contest ground support for an attack to retake Brussels.

Japanese bombers assist a second Japanese attempt to take Manila.

US opts for blitzkrieg combat and retreats from Manila.

Axis forces recapture Brussels, but suffer losses.

The Germans are not rolling well. American armoured and mechanised units defend Arnhem.

Italian forces deal with partisans in Hungary.

Remaining Red Army units in the Leningrad area are eliminated, at a cost.

Terauchi's attack on Maoist partisans is automatic.

Allies damaged a German Amph with a port attack on Kiel.

Japan naval, Italy air, Germany combined.

The German battle-fleet steams to North Atlantic 3 box and the Japanese fleet at Singapore dominates the Bay of Bengal, carrying more land units.

Naval searches all fail: North Sea, u boats in North Atlantic, Japanese subs in Mendocino, and Italian aircraft in W Med.

Japanese artillery ground strike in northwest China.

No land combat.

On the western front, Kesselring withdraws to Paris. The Germans try to strengthen their line and rebase aircraft.
