This is
T36, I think, and something has happened to my graphics overload folder and I need to fix it. I'm clearing out the
Leningrad area, I've captured
Sevastopol finally, I'm in the process of crossing the
Kertch Straits, and things are going rather well. I've got
30.2 HRS's so far. That's enough to survive the Soviet Winter Attacks.

I think it's my favorite because it has offensive and defensive periods and the Soviets have a large task ahead of them but are favored in the long run. Plus I've only beat it once as the Axis. Out of the dozens of times I've played it.

This is
T40. I'm sneaking up on
Moscow. Did I mention that I captured
Sevastopol? I'm still aiming for
Stalingrad before winter sets in. I have
30.6K HRS's.

I cleared out the
Leningrad area of enemy troops and now I'm busy repairing all the rails leading north out of there. I found a dummy unit that I can use to garrison the post at
Leningrad. Although I can't imagine anything sailing into the port belonging to the enemy. It's
T42 and the S
oviet Winter Offensive is supposed to happen about
T49 or so. I'm going to start resting my guys to anticipate the strength they're going to need to weather the blows of Soviet units that are at an of their ground shock value of
120 for about
10 turns or so I believe. I'm hoping that with the backup of enough arty that I'll be able to stand with the Soviets toe to toe for long enough to hold the lines together. We'll see.
This is a view of the action going on near
Moscow right now. Is this the kind of details you guys want? I've been posting the front lines zoomed out but if you'd rather see details like in this picture I'll start posting them.

Here's what's happening in the
Rostov area right now. I'm flooding into the
AO spreading out. I haven't worked out a good plan for this
AO. I'm guessing the grand plan is to capture all the oil areas down south. We'll see how it goes. I'd still like to arrive at
Stalingrad before winter.

Get to Stalingrad so you have a ricepaper-thin defensive line in the south?
I think I read somewhere that that's a tricky position to defend.

Somehow I got seperated from my last copy of GifAnimator.exe and has to go looking for something to replace it and I found something that might work but I couldn't figure out how to make the blink period longer. Anyway, this is the same picture as above but with the roads and rails depicted, Such as they are right now.

This is the
Moscow area in
T44 as it is right now. I've managed to push even closer to the city proper and I think it's going rather well. I have a ground shock of
115 and their ground shock is
98 so I'm trying to take advantage of the difference. The airfield strikes I've been making lately haven't resulted in the losses I've been willing to take so I've quit doing that. I've been bombing his
HQ units and I've lost a handfull of planes but I've been successful in taking out quite a few
command squads with the chance to knocking that formation into
reorg. Most every turn now on the last round of the game almost all my aircraft are left in a
yellow condition but they almost always are ready to go (
green ) the next turn. It's now
19Nov41 and winter is setting in hard, the rivers are frozen over and the snow is getting deep. I have
29.6K HRS's left.

Here's what it looks like north of Moscow. I'm barely able to keep him on his side of the line....it seems like I spend most of my time plugging holes in the gaps he makes.

Here's what's happening south of
Rostov right now. I'm running into some light resistance so far. Small groups of Soviet units at a time. Nothing approaching a front line anywhere.

I'm sneaking up on
Stalingrad slowly. There's been very little resistance getting there. The Soviets have probably built a fortress there. I have
29.6K HRS's left.

This is the beginning of
T50. This is the third turn of the
Soviet Winter Offensive, which means their ground shock is
120 and my shock is
90 so they have a significant advantage over me right now. You can see all the breakthroughs they have made in my lines. I'm going to have to pull back all my units and get reorganized at the next defensive line to the west wherever that is. Hopefully along a river bank or forest or some other terrain defensive advantage. But the good news is that I'm getting closer to
Stalingrad all the time. This may be the time I lose the initiative and have to revert to the defensive for a little while.

Compared with the above image there's not a whole lot of difference except that spot where the Soviets have broken through my lines good and proper. I'm going to have to pull back obviously, and I'll probably lose a hand full of units in the process.
I'm not sure how much I'm going to lose in units and territory but I'm pretty sure it won't be pretty. This may change the course of the game. We'll see.

This is the start of T52 and shows the
Stalingrad area right now. I expect to have the city in another couple of turns.
