Turn 10. Mar/Apr 1941. Initiative.

The axis win the first roll, the allies elect NOT to re-roll and the axis choose to move first.

MA41 i1:
Germany and Italy DOW Spain (2 chits to entry pool, but the extra chit rolls failed)
Germany DOW Yugoslavia (no chits to entry pool).
Alignment decisions and setup of both minors comes next.

{I was not quite in position, but the good weather is too enticing.
Also, not sure if it is really too late for a Spain gambit, but we will now see.}

Pat, the game file I got was passed the setup for Spain and Yugoslavia. Though it did show that you were at war (surprise) with both countries I wasn't given the opportunity to set up any of their units. Could you got through the DOW step again and send me the file?

P.S. I just opened the file that you sent me and it asks to choose controller when it opens but quickly skips to the alignment phase. Maybe if you go through the DOW step again, set die rolls to get the same US entry rolls and choose CW for both countries then maybe that game file will work?

Will do. There are no auto saved files to go back to, so I'll start with the file you last sent me. I did not note the chits drawn (though I could figure it out), but I also don't know how to manipulate the chit random numbers to give a certain chit value, so I'll just let those go as random again.

Pat, I can go through the DOW step on my end and set die rolls to get the chits you got if you want?

We have a bug / issue.
When I close the Italian port strike phases I get the following set of messages.
First a roll for Niger surprise. Click ok, I get it again. If I click this time, I get the error message and the game is lost. If I continue the close button is greyed out and I cannot proceed. I'll post this in the Tech section with the game file.

Pat, just sent you a game file with a workaround that seems to fix the problem. I moved the French fighter from the Niger colony to the 0-box of the Ross Sea. We can keep it there indefinitely or until I figure out how to send it and it's pilot back to the force pool.

Anyway, with the fix I'm sent you I was able to get to the naval air phase (past the port strike phase). The game turn is back at the align minors phase.

MA41 i1:
Actions: JP and GE take land; IT takes a combined.
No port strikes or naval air moves.
Italy moves 4 scs (one loaded with an INF div) to the 4-box of the W. Med. Italians do not initiate combat.
The CW can initiate combat in the W. Med. Will they? Any reactions of air if they do?

No attempt to initiate combat and no reaction. [:(]

MA41 i1: GS
Limited ground strikes. Determined it was better to use the doubling of ground support factors than two dice on single stacked hexes during the surprise impulse.

MA41 i1:
Para drop in Spain, on the Spanish fighter.

IT division, invades southern Spain at Almeria.

Because of surprise, both the para drop and the invasion are automatic

And Ground support in Spain. The Hungarian fighter also flies as a bomber and supports the attack on Zagreb.

MA41 i1: attacks part 1
Here are the first three attacks. I chose assault for you in all three, since a Blitz would have been an automatic loss with no impact to me on the +19 (+21's were automatic - of course I rolled a 20 on one of those [:)]).
The other attacks in Yugoslavia will be Blitz's by the Germans choice. In Spain, you will have the choice in the 3 remaining attacks there.
[63,23] mods are +11.5 with only a tank destroyer arm div at risk (if it counts as ARM).
[64,25] mods are +14.5 with a MECH, ARM and ARM HQ potentially at risk
[65,27] modes are +13 with a ARM and ARM HQ potentially at risk.
Breaking for dinner now and will finish this in about an hour.
