The 17th brings mixed results. As predicted, the Japanese struck at Tsitsihar, crushing two Soviet IDs and getting back a portion of the previously lost ground troop Ops we'd just won at Hailar. A bad mistake on my part, just forgetting settings and having the army enter the hex separately. All attacks are off and now I'll roll back into defensive turtle for about two years. Forts are nearly built, and the troops are mostly in place already, so these out here will largely be a reserve to counter any major push by the IJA. It's quite a reserve, with two armor divisions, a massive mechanised division, and lots of arty and AA.
Down in the more important battles in the DEI the introduction of some TBs to Singapore had an immediate effect. I'd noticed the BBs hanging quite close at Kuantan, and thought it was worth a shot. Two strikes later and the Haruna took two fish, both with listing and counter flooding messages, one also with engine damage. Yard time at least, and another BB out of the way for a while. Subs are vectored in to see if more can be done. Strikes also went for some little CMs at the base, unfortunately, but at least this lets me know not to try any more bombardments there. Probably a while lot of spikes metal exploding balls floating around now. [:-]
Aside from that the movement of troops continues. Imagine everything that usually goes to So Pac going to the DEI. Now imagine everything that usually goes to Burma going to the DEI. then imagine all of it concentrating on Malaya. That's what is happening right now. [:)]

Singapore reaches forts 6 and fields 8 on the same turn!! [8D][&o]
Also, as you can see here, there is a bit more supply in the base as well! I'll stop forts and bring it to a size 9 field next to be able to keep unlimited numbers of planes here. I'm running into problems with number of groups allowed with the smaller sized Allied groups. Then I'll turn fort building back on.
