TAR and FEATHERS!!!
Couple Makes More Than $100,000 Reselling Lysol Wipes Amid Coronavirus Fears: “We’re Hustlers”
https://balleralert.com/profiles/blogs/ ... ronavirus/
"A Vancouver couple is capitalizing on the growing hysteria surrounding the spread of coronavirus.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to The Star, Manny Ranga and his wife Violeta Perez parked their Ford F-150 outside of a Costco near downtown Vancouver this week with stacks upon stacks of “Lysol disinfecting wipes.”
The couple claimed they’ve made over $100,000 so far with their “business model.” They hit up each Costco retailer within the area, and racked up on as many Lysol wipes and liquid cleaners they could get their hands on, spending thousands of dollars at a time and then reselling them on Amazon under their vendor name “Violeta & Sons Buying and Selling, Ltd.”
Ranga revealed that one $20 six-pack of wipes could fetch 4 times as much online. The couple stocked their valued wipes in a storage area on their property, and in turn, resold them for $89."
TBH... while I would never do such a thing, I can't really fault them for doing something they're allowed to do.
Want that to stop, gotta pass anti-gouging laws like NYC has. Didn't bother to pass anti-gouging laws? Well...
Written Law? Exactly, that's why tar and feathers come in handy, or other more permanent methods if needed, when the Moral Compass points in that direction.
Lately I had many conversations about If there is no law - will you just do what you want, and if laws become unjust = what will you do.

I've just worked 3 12-16hr days. Our clients got put on quarantine Sunday. We have new procedures to deal with CV19. We had to send "The Scrounger Hendley" out to find enough hand sanitizers and other over the counter products we use.
I use spices for culinary and medicinal uses. And I eat a anti-inflammatory diet. So, If I get hopefully I can weather the storm.
Looks like this thread is becoming War and Peace.

Roche's test kit …
https://www.forbes.com/sites/isabeltogo ... e454ef4fa8
What I understand is that beginning next week they will be shipping one to every metro area (one Level 1 Trauma Center) initially, then backfilling all lvl 1 Trauma's. Supposedly, the tester production is licensed and several manufacturer's are gearing up ASAP. Realistically, still 6 - 9 weeks away from having all the test capacity one would like, but at least there is now a solution. Roche won the contest ...
Each kit will contain Roche 714's

Hey RangeJoe,
In regards to the arthritis medications info and link you posted - I wanted to say thanks. My wife contacted her doctor to ask about any known complications for people using her medication and regimen for rheumatoid arthritis. The doctor basically said there wasn't a strong sample size nor many within his network that had any working experience with the virus yet.
In the end, he basically told her to try extra-hard not to catch the virus... <wry grin>.
You are welcome. But the information was that the Chinese were testing the drugs for Corona virus cytokine overload, where the body essentially goes nuts and destroys itself. Apparently that is what is happening to people who get very sick and then go to see what is next.
ANTI-INFLAMMATORY foods and spices, beneficial not just for CV19.

Hi all. London report for today.
A few friends still going into school to assist the students who are getting their work and books and equipment for the closure period. One went out for a last bit of culture last night to see theatre, but got there and it had closed that night. Everything is shutting down. Museums the latest today.
Still some on the streets in the neighbourhood. We did a walk to the park, some swings and a few slides at the park. Disinfected little and big hands several times, and avoided other people mostly. Kids don't avoid at all, of course, but I can see the parents shepherding them away now after a short contact. My daughter did go down the slide in tandem with another little girl, and all was fine, seemingly. Hand washes at home.
My friend who has Covid seems to be turning the corner. His breathing was laboured, but is easing up, apparently.
I have a thread going with my teacher colleagues to keep abreast of what we're doing to teach from home, and this just came through it as well. Could be one reason for the random severe cases among the young(er) fit and healthy groups.
[font="Trebuchet MS"]nhs worker:
We have just been sent a medical alert that no one is to use anti inflammatories (eg I brufen, Voltarol, naproxen and there are others) for pain or high temperature. Use paracetamol instead. There seems to be a link between severe cases of covid19 affecting young people with no underlying illnesses and taking anti inflammatories. Initial reports started coming from French Drs on Friday. This has been confirmed by infectious diseases consultants here - there are 4 young people in ICU in Cork who have no underlying illnesses - all were taking anti inflammatories and there are concerns this has caused a more severe illness. We have been asked to spread the message. French tv and radio apparently broadcast the same warning today..

I was thinking the Scripture reference of it the other day. It was what the Romans used, I believe.

Watching data come in hour by hour is pretty brutal because usually it will take at least three days of consistency to establish a trend with any degree of confidence.
Nevertheless, the data coming from Italy remains a key to understanding progression and containment. So I'll be looking at that today (yesterday it came in about 1 p.m. eastern (USA) time).
In the meantime, new cases in Spain, France, Germany, USA and lots of other counties are on the rising (discouraging) side of the bell-shaped-curve. Knowing when Italy tops out and then begins to decline (as South Korea did about 10 days back) is meaningful info.

I heard anecdotal reports yesterday from my mother via her friends, on a road trip through the west. They said that in Arizona (and everywhere they'd been so far) it's all business as usual with restaurants open, tourists at sites, and little evidence this is happening at all.
Has that changed since the recent encouragements for restrictions by the Federal govt? Mixed reports from a friend in Philly last night. Fingers crossed people pay attention and act to reduce transmission.
Yes. Can't give you numbers but at least many restaurants are closed. At least some are doing take-out only.
An elderly (87 yo) friend was visit friends in Green Valley yesterday (south of Tucson), which is a big retirement town, and said there are no restaurants open there.

The USA benefitted from being a bit later in virus onset (in most places) and getting to see what was going on in Europe and how things were being handled. As a result, federal, state and local governments began taken strong action comparatively early and in some ways we've caught up to Western Europe (and perhaps surpassed some, in some ways).
That may not be the case with all states, like Washington State which saw an early outbreak back in February and dealt with far more uncertainty in what to do.

Death toll from COVID-19 rises as N.J. imposes statewide restrictions, closes schools
https://whyy.org/articles/n-j-gov-murph ... -m-curfew/
"New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has announced statewide restrictions beginning 8 p.m. Monday that will severely limit business operations and discourage individual travel in an extraordinary effort to slow the spread of the novel Coronavirus."
" Sad to announce our third death of an individual with #COVID19 – a male in his 90s who was being treated at @HackensackUMC in Bergen County. Our prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
