If the mission to take out Yamamoto had been handled this way you wouldn't have war crimes lawyers arguing about it 70 years later.
Hmmmm I am thinking Vito Corleone takes out Yamamoto, Tojo, & Hirohito in a dramatic sequence of plane crash, "comfort woman," and poisoned Sushi ... with MacArthur kissing the ring in the final scene ... We can work Marissa Tomei as the comfort woman with a samari sword .. able to do what Tojo could not [;)]

Jungle near Kalemyo: 6th Guards Div has been on a Boy Scout Jamboree for months. ALS goes after them. I suspect it is a diversion..or perhaps just to wear them down should they try to move to the coast. It also gives the Vengeance drivers soemthing to do.
